Saw this on the GAB forum and was pretty impressed. These guys need to keep it going and record a new album. They're sounding really good.

Not sure if he's back in the band or if it was just a jam but they need him IN and then they could talk some sense into Izzy.

Saw that and agree. They sounded good and it hopefully sparks something

A friend of mine saw them recently and said that Adler sat in on a few songs. He said it was an obvious difference in the sound of the band. Matt Sorum is a good drummer, but Adler has more swing.

They sound great... they def need adler in the band, lose the DJ and fortus?, and get gilby back. Slash has a backline of marshall plexi reissues on the stage but he is using the 2555x and older 2555SL on tour and they are backstage, of course. In case anyone was wondering what his rig is currently

Adler's a Badass and has the hardest hitting snare ive ever heard.

I know we've all have our problems surviving the crazy 80's but i hope he succeeds.

They don't come through my area and missed out on the next city with AIC because I honestly haven't been following them but I hope they keep playing and do another tour and album next year.

Sorum is not the GNR drummer on this tour, maybe he managed to get up on stage, but Frank Ferrer is the drummer.

If they ever put out another album together I hope they get Mike Clink to produce it.

Ok. I was referring to when Adler was originally replaced. Regardless, Adler just has a swing to his style that was an integral part of the sound on the first album.

I wasn't even that interested in seeing GNR after how they were treating Adler. After he played at the Cincinnati and Nashville shows I got tickets for Pittsburgh (their next stop on the tour). He ended up not being there which was a bummer but the band played great and it was a fantastic show.

I've made fun of Axl for his singing a couple years ago (when it was its worst IMO) but there is no denying his grit/attitude coming back to his voice, stage presence, charisma and front man. He's giving everything he's got when he's up there. It really comes across and highly recommend seeing them to any rock fan.

For as great and packed of a show it was it's hard to even fathom what it would have been like seeing them live in 88 - 92 at the height of their popularity with them being the "in" thing. I watch that live at the Ritz 88 MTV performance and it's just magic. Sure the playing is a bit sloppy and greasy. It's in your face rock and roll.

I was a little dissapointed with the Ritz gig when it aired in '88 cause it just didn't compare to the first time I saw them in '87 opening for the Cult and really the six times I saw them after that 87 gig were just really not that spectacular even though they had their moments . I got spoiled early and saw them on a night where they were on time , the sound was perfect (Warfield Theatre , SF) the band played incredibly tight ball busting rock n roll like I'd never seen

I've got tickets to their show next Friday in Houston. I'm so stoked to see them.

Weird that he would have dummy Marshall heads onstage, he's almost always had his heads in the tech area and just cabs on stage, so it's strange he would do this!

I like how he's gone back to the Jubilees though for that classic live GN'R sound (Not that his tone is ever substandard really)!

Yep, the exact reason Izzy said why he left the band...no swing..too heavy metal sounding...

Izzy was a big part of that sound, too! Even changing one guy out isn't the same. It can be close, but not the same. It's crazy how delicate the synergy can be between everyone in any given band.

Agree, it comes across very well on YouTube also. Suddenly they sounded like the original GN´r. Goes to show how much the drummer influences the sound and feel of the music.

The same can also be said about when Nicko McBrain replaced Clive Burr in Iron Maiden. A very good drummer indeed, but the sound of the band was changed forever.

I am a huge Guns and Roses fan and bought "Appetite" before most people even knew who they were. I saw the video for "Welcome to the Jungle" and literally went to the store that next morning to buy the CD.

I was going to attend one of the shows but couldn't justify paying what they are asking, only because that is one band that I wouldn't want to be in the nosebleed seats for. With that said, I have seen videos of the shows and for me it is awesome seeing the band getting along again, healthy, and sounding great. I never thought they would do anything together again so pretty exciting to see them out there and enjoying it.
