Had my first band gig in almost 15 years on Saturday...

Very cool!!! Glad to hear it went well and you had a good time. Nowadays if I have an onstage mishap (whether it's me making a mistake or equipment malfunction), I just shrug it off and say screw it. I'm out to have fun now, not to impress anyone with a flawless performance.

As a matter-of-fact, I'm probably less serious about it now than ever and I'm having more fun than any other band I've been in... Coincidence? I think not. Screw it, I'm going to have fun!

PS - I almost fell on my ass at the gig this past Saturday. I was walking backwards pretty fast without realizing where I was and tripped over a cymbal stand. Somehow, I managed to stay on my feet, but it was REAL close. lol...

Thanks alot Chris and youre right, In the beginning, I was uptight about every little nuance but as the Beer and JD kicked in, I just laughed about it and just didnt give a damn and apparently, no else did either so it was great...

I have to keep reminding myself that ultimately , this is all about the fun and shit is going to happen. Of course, I want to deliver the goods as best as I can but Im going to just laugh about it soldier on do the best that I can, I cant ask anymore of myself than that...

Quite frankly, Im surprised that I didnt land on my ass a couple of times because we we're REALLY cramped and there wasnt much space at all for anything. Im surprised that I didnt ding my guitar when I ran in to the PA because that puppy was wobbling afterwards!!!

I should have them later this week, Our bass players GF took a bunch and shes going to hook me up. I wouldnt be surprised If I give you a run for the drunken shots that you have with Sean!!!

Yeah, I think I was alot harder on myself than others but still, you know how it is... I think the nerves are natural at first and Im confident that the more that we get out there, the better it will get!!!

And yes, I did notice the When!!! go out and kick ass!!!

Yeah man, that was a long lay off!!! Ive sat in with some bands over the years for a song or two and its always awesome but being in a band thats looking to gig regularly is way too cool.

As I said earlier, my setup was a little awkward but Ive got a new midi controller coming that will fit on my board and I think that will make things easier on me . You definitely have a point though, regardless of what youre doing, it does take some time to get used to running and switching the rig in a live setting....

FWIW, I was nervous before every show for the first 10 years of gigging. Now, I don't even think about it.

Back when I was doing it regularly, I had the same thing but they were minor and usually gone within the first song. This time out, it was pretty hardcore just like when I first did Guitarmageddon. Im looking forward to when it becomes no big thing!!!
