4x12's exist because they look cool.... Needing a huge wall of sound died in the 80's at the latest. The sad fact is people mic 1-2 speakers of whatever they are using and get better tone through the PA... a Full stack is a look, nothing that isn't achievable in a single 4x12 imho.
