They did a pretty good job offering a handful of more modern & classic colors on these.
Lol I didn't even notice that!

To be honest, I'd rather not have the pickguard. It is fine but never has been something I have felt like I needed.

I agree! I was so set on the ebony transparent and the more I looked, I really dug a lot of thr other ones.

I think if I didn't have a Bourbon Standard already, I might have bought a more standard color. I have a cherry burst Classic but that is thr one covered in stickers, lol.

I'm normally not a fan of binding, but that looks awesome! Love the color as well. Congrats on the new LP!!

I laid my Standard and Studio Session side by side and looks like the body is a 1/4th thicker. The Studio Session is weight relieved as well so big difference in weight.

The angle is a bit off in the photo because the Standard is leaning forward but you still can see the difference and how the Studio Session is flatter.

Wow, that looks like it may be approaching Ibanez neck territory

I haven't played an Ibanez in such a long time but probably leaning that way, especially compared to the baseball bat necks, lol.

If I remember correctly all the Studio are a bit thinner.

The Studio Sessions look naked without the poker chip though.
It comes with a poker chip. You have to install it yourself.

I bought one (Transparent Ebony) from a GC using a 15% coupon I received in the mail. I returned it because Gibson actually had a better deal. Plus Gibson had an exclusive Dark Purple Burst color. Awesome color in person!

The body is thinner than a LP Standard. Nice guitar until you open the cavity. If one wanted to change the pickups, it would be a nightmare. Circuit Board. I sent it back to Gibson, got refunded in full and ended up with buying a Gibson Slash November Burst LP Standard from Sweetwater. For a little over $1k more, I have a keeper for life not needing any mods.

Pics of the purple burst?

I contemplated picking up a Mark Morton LP because it was in this same vein as the Studio Session with the heel scarf and ebony board. It's got a 9-12" compund radius board too. But the MM has a full thickness body (also weight relieved). It's also got hot ceramic pickups.

Ace Frehley used a circuit board......jk😅

Yeah I knew if I was going to get this guitar, I'd have to love the pickups and have zero interest in changing them. If they had more quick connect pickups choices, it would be good for Gibson to do. I understand the ease of swapping pickups but most people are just going to want to change pickups out once.

Great buy with the Slash guitar! I'm sure one day I'll have one of those. I'm a big fan of his.

Just checked one out tonight at Guitard Center and can confirm that nexk joint is great and a great Les Paul.

Nice!! I'm such a Les Paul nerd that it checks the boxes for me and enhances things I already love about a Les Paul. I can see why some traditionalists would not like the curve at the heel and weight relief but I think it is great.

My 2019 60s Les Paul Standard has the traditional, no weight relief, etc. and is perfect. This guitar is just as solid as that one but way more comfortable when I've got it hanging on my shoulder, lol.

I was worried that it would feel so different from my Les Pauls that I wouldn't like it but is so great. I am going to end up with a Honeyburst, I just know it, lol.
