I don't hate Kirk, he seems like a cool guy to sit around and drink a few beers with. He really complimented the sound in the early days and nobody can take Kill Em All and And Justice Ripping away from him. He did a fine job. Since then though....... wah overkill is right and over time that fast shrill vibrato just lends itself to grating on the ears. That said, Kirk seems to be the least of Metallica's problem. LArs has no feet anymore or timing for that matter and that whole clip was a total mess time wise. Haven't seen Metallica live since the black album.. and it was actually Kirk's birthday then too. Maybe they are just sick of playing the same old shit all the time.. it has been 20 years since the show I saw I guess! I'm sure Bruce Dickinson is tired of playing Run to the Hills and Number of the Beast too.
