Has Anyone Bought from Voodooman Switches?

I ordered a channel switch pedal from Voodooman over a month ago. Its for my Uberschall, and according to their site, the item was in stock. So I order it, get confirmation of the order, they charge my card and I wait.

Now its over a month later, and no pedal has arrived. I've left them several emails and phone calls (that roll into voice mail) and have gotten no response.

So I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with them. If its a one guy shop I understand things take awhile, and personal situations sometimes get in the way of timely communication. However, now that's been over a month since I paid for something, and I have no idea at all if I am going to receive it, I am wondering what's going on. My emails and phone calls (2 each) have been made this week and last, again with no response whatsoever.

What say you Rig Talk? Has anyone had experience with them, good or bad?

I just sent them an email from their web form. I will let you know if I hear back. I also checked out the address on Google Maps but I can't tell if it is a small business complex, apartment complex, or a house.
 
Lots of cul de sacs in that area so I would assume it is a house.
 
I got a runaround from them on a footswitch for a 2ch recto. After a bunch of lame excuses it finally showed up (3 months). But, it didnt work when it arived. I tried to get ahold of them for a month and finally gave up. I got screwed. Luckily it was only $30

Great...I'm only into this for $68 including shipping, but shit, I need a damn switcher, and it would be nice to have one that works like the stock Bogner one does (channel + FX) without the hefty price. I'd build one, but electronics and I don't really get along very well.

I may just contact my CC company tomorrow and see what I can do. This is bullshit.

I've never dealt with them but I do have a Voodoo switcher that came with my Uberschall. It works well but you have to run 2 cords between the switcher and the amp which is a pain. I've got to look into getting a dual cord in one kind of dealio...

You can't get a replacement from Bogner?
 
My singer ordered a switch from him for his Mesa F50. After a month of the run around, he finally gave up, got his refund after contacting his credit card co., and ordered a replacement from Boogie. IMO, I'd get your money back pronto.
 
Hard to believe that companies do this and expect to stay in business. :confused:
 
6 days from when I sent my inquiry to them via their website and I have not heard anything back from them. Dispute that charge with your CC company!
 
I bought a switch from them, but it was a BIN on ebay. Got it really fast.

These stories don't sound so good though. :thumbsdown:
 
Yeah...I actually used PayPal on this transaction as apparently I was too lazy to go upstairs and get my wallet with my Visa/Debit card. Thus, I've filed a "dispute" with PayPal and now it has escalated into a claim. The way it seems to work is that PayPal contacts the seller to get "their" side of the story and then goes from there. I figure since PayPal will get no response from them, I should be seeing my payment credited back to me...or at least I hope so.

What a crock of shit...why even bother to have a website if you don't plan on, uh, doing business?
 
I must bring this post up again to say that my switch arrived today, unannounced.

I assume it took a claim with PayPal to get them to ship the item for which I paid. PayPal contacted the seller, who apparently came right back to say the item shipped. I do not think its coincidence, but I guess in the end its doesn't really matter (this last phrase should be sung a la Linkin Park I suppose).

In any event, I would not buy from them again. A return email or phone call would have been easier, and I wonder if they would have ever shipped the item had I not sic'd PayPal on them.

It appears to work.

There was a big thread about this last year on the Boogie Boards forum (grailtone). Turns out the owner's son had some serious health issues...he was off the grid for awhile. I'm not sure if this is the case this time, but careful ripping on this guy....footswitches don't mean dick if you have a sick child.

First - read my first post.

Second, I wouldn't wish a sick kid on anyone (have two of my own), but how the hell am I supposed to know that?

Seriously, if he (or they, or whoever) have had issues dating back a year, according to your post, then they should take down their site or at least communicate long shipping times.
 
This is another asswipe. His misfortunes are well documented on the Mesa forums.

Kudos to the Mesa forum for leaving that up.

I found this Mesa forum and read some of this stuff. Apparently, yes he had some severe family situation occur last year around April. That is awful and I hope it all is now resolved.

He put a "state of Voodooman" sort of post in May that is filled with complaints such as mine.

I ordered a switch from them November 11th
It is now January 16th.

No switch, no response to emails or phone calls.

As far as I'm concerned the company is a sham.

DONT BUY FROM VOODOOMAN!

I just came across this thread, I'm glad you got your pedal. He is right across the Columbia river from me, I would have went over to check it out but its all good.
