If the guy wants to trade for your SLO then he’s planning on flipping it for big cash. 5k probably.
No logical choice here other than keeping the SLO.
But if he is offering the LP at say $2500 street value plus $2500 American what would he get out of the deal? Unless you mean he's going to sell just the head. If he is going to sell both for 5k then he's better off keeping the guitar and his money. That sounds like a gamble and a long wait considering the OP cant off it. Unless.... the guy is willing to wait and sit on it till the right buyer for the head comes along and he keeps the cab.

You make perfect sense to me Phil, especially if sluice has an amp(s) he likes more. What's gonna happen to the crazy price hike when B.A.D comes out with the new model?

Keep the SLO man, no brainer IMHO. That is - IF you like what the SLO delivers tonally... Which I am certain you likely do otherwise you'd not have it.

Well there will always be guys selling the old ones for huge money regardless of the B.A.D. made amps, even if they sound exactly the same.. and there will always be guys who say the Soldano built era amps sound better! Thats just a given. There will also be guys who would only buy a Soldano built SLO just because "its better", Mojo..etc.
If your looking at this from a monetary standpoint and you arent commited to the SLO then I would look at it as you could probably get $2500 give or take for that LP and $2500 cash comes out to $5k. Would you let go of your SLO half stack for that? If yes, then theres your answer. I had a somewhat rare Rectifier that I put up cause I needed some $$ and I was asking a lot cause I felt it was worth it. Didnt want to let it sit forever and figured I would find the funds someplace else and take the amp down cause I really didnt want to part with it. Well it sold in about 2-3 weeks for my asking price. Then there are awesome deals on high dollar amps that just sit for months and months. Market is weird on high dollar stuff sometimes... whatever you decide, Good luck!

Yea, maybe the insanity will never end, maybe for collection purposes keep the Slo halfstack...IDK, I have made so many shitty gear decisions since the 90's money is like a spiral vortex shooting down the tubes of infinity.

Well, the JP2C and vintage 2C+ come to mind..the JP is cool but doesn't get there. Jury is out on the SLO II if that's what it is...my feeling will always be that because the DeYoungs are no more it won't get there. So I predict the originals will command more going forward. Yeah I know transformers can be cloned but I still feel there is something about a vintage Marshall (JCM 800 and prior) that any new Marshall just can't get. I believe it's the transformers.
Btw 5K for a USED Custom LP? It's not even a Historic? Is it just me or is that just a little steep?
I'm admittedly not an LP guy though...

This is exactly what I'm worried about to be honest. Although, if it's value is hit, it won't be a huge hit.
And the Wiz is my #1

When I am on the fence about deals like this, I will always try to get them to throw in more money. In this case, I would tell him to throw in another $250. I let their answer decide the fate of the deal.

Well sh*t, I've been playing with the SLO all night yesterday and completely loved it. Hard to say if I really prefer the Wizard, now.

Hard decisions when you need money and have too much gear. Perhaps I should keep both head and get rid of more guitars! ☺️

Remember this word ...Regret....do you want to say this after you sell it?

This is your answer. At least from my view, great amps are much harder to replace than guitars. Especially considering what you have...both are hard to find, usually takes a while before either of those amps to pop up used.
Keep them both...I can easily say after owning both they are in my top 5.
