I give Hendrix and EVH huge props for their innovative sounds and techniques, but I’m sorry the core musical ideas themselves I just don’t think are anything special. That’s to me the most important part: the musical ideas aka melodies, harmonies, rhythms. The techniques and sounds are imo more the grooming or presentation of it so to speak. The playing itself is quite good, but I just don’t to see it having the same level of skill or feel involved in Magic Sam’s Boogie whether you guys like the song or not. Seriously, you guys should try learning it and tell me how easy it is to make it sound halfway decent (not many can do it). I understand guys say no one can sound like Hendrix or EVH either, but at least many can still play that stuff and make it sound reasonably good, but for Magic Sam very hard to do. I’m partly also impressed with it just because as a classical guitarist I would have to do so much work to learn play to play it well. Not that hard to simply play the notes at tempo, but to do all the necessary details to make it sound good. I again think the guy’s here aren’t getting it, but it’s ok, we all like what we likeMachine Gun! Come on now! Nobody, I mean nobody ever touched this! By far the greatest use of feedback the history of recorded guitar, forever to be unmatched.
