I still have my 79 Marshall that Scott rebuilt in 2003 and that amp is still going strong.I've had 4 Quikrods and a Nitro I custom ordered in 2010. Damn good amps![]()
Now that's pretty cool dude. I wish I had my 1st one back and the Nitro.I still have my 79 Marshall that Scott rebuilt in 2003 and that amp is still going strong.![]()
Right after I received the Marshall I ordered a 2003 Quickrod as well. I played it shortly and then sold it after my band broke up and I quit playing out but I kept my Marshall that I have had for many years. I don't regret getting Scott to rebuild it.Now that's pretty cool dude. I wish I had my 1st one back and the Nitro.
I got my 1st quickrod off a preacher who used it in church.100 watt tube head in church !
I have the latest QR 100 watt version with all the options and its a great sounding amp. Well built and sounds great at bedroom levels. Not expensive at all on the secondhand market.I was an early(ish) adopter and had 5 Quickrod/Pro Mods between 2006-2017. Those early 4 preamp tube heads were special. The 2012 and 2014 didn’t seem the same to me. I’ve never tried a recent one with the switches but I have been thinking it’s time to “come home”. Maybe I can swing it later this year.
How can you tell the latest version anyways?I have the latest QR 100 watt version with all the options and its a great sounding amp. Well built and sounds great at bedroom levels. Not expensive at all on the secondhand market.
'Latest' will have a loop volume control in the back - but that's been around awhile now. After that he offered additional options called 'new-old', 'mid-cut', and 'Drop B+ voltage'. So a fully loaded Quick Rod would have all 3 of those additions. How can you tell the latest version anyways?
