I am sorry to say your money is probably gone for good. You can pursue it but its doubtful. Buy a case of your favorite beer and say fuck it.

It's an ATA 2x12 case but still pricey.

Thanks all for your replies. From your suggestions, this is what I have gathered:

1. I should have been a little more tactful in my writing. Will post on TGP but will take the suggestions given when putting my thoughts together.
2. PayPal gift sucks and I had to learn the lesson the hard way.
3. Beer is expensive! (I don't drink, but couldn't pass up Mr. Willy's suggestion).

I have his number and been calling, leaving voice messages. His last words to me were, "You'll get your cab, all my customers get their cabs," but this was four weeks ago. I guess I'll hold on to that hope...

What makes them any different from a reputable companies cab? I sure would not be sending him a "Gift"

Ya, I don't get the whole idea of going with one of these smaller cab companies. I'll stick with one of the dozens of reputable builders.

Hopefully he is just behind on orders. You're in a tough spot though.

I know what it's like to deal with smaller builders who get in over their heads a bit. Been waiting over 18 months for an amp that was only going to take 4 months to complete.

Regardless of the fact the builder stayed in SOMEWHAT regular contact, it is still incredibly frustrating and sours the custom build experience from a customer perspective.

Are you any closer to a resolution on your debacle?

Not long ago it was the same story with DAR amps, no communication with customers  he was pretty much written off as the thief of the week. Evidently he was just slower than a crippled turtle, but he did eventually get some amps shipped. Hopefully this is the case here and you get what you paid for.

Those are some shady business practices though imo, asking for PP gift and wanting all of the money prepaid before he even starts building it.

Sort of. Last I was told is that I will have it before the end of the year. We shall see. Regardless it will go up for sale or trade as soon as I get it and it all checks out.

Even if it lives up to my expectations, I am way too soured on it, you know?

As has been stated many times..A business asking, requesting, demanding payment via paypal "gift"
is not a business. It's a douchebag pretending to be a business. Sorry to hear about your dilemma and hope you get it sorted

Yo I am from MN I have met Woody several times -- I would be surprised if he did not eventually come through though this IS lame...

PM me I might be able to help give a local communication to let him know his hometown is watching this......

He contacted me and we're trying to work it out. Still haven't gotten my cab.

 I live like 5 minutes from there and I've never heard of Hermit Cabs. Hopefully things turn up.
