Hermit Cabs - I GOT MY CAB!!!

Huh. Woody contacted me about 2 months ago to discuss getting Scumbacks for his cabs. He hasn't placed an order yet. Has anyone ordered a cab from him with Scumbacks as part of the sale?

Let me know if you have and what paper work you can provide.

I still did not get my cab.

He did contact me and gave me a sob story about his company not doing well but he promised me he'll have it for me this week. That was three weeks ago. Again, I ordered this back in August with the understanding that it would take 8 weeks or less.

I tried calling and emailing but no response again.

Anyway, I saw that there was a different email listed on his website so I sent am email wanting more info on a 212 cab. Someone responded right away asking me to give him more details. When I said who I was, they stopped responding.

I ain't getting my cab...

Did you fund him with a paypal balance, or paypal credit card funds?
 
PayPal, but used the gift option to help him with his fees. I know, stupid me.

Yeah...that sucks. The gift option wouldn't have been a big deal if you used your credit card for funding. You could go through your credit card company I would think, had you gone that route.

I know I will come off as a Neanderthal & perhaps unrealistic saying this, but I'd do my damndest to make a trip to the sellers establishment with a can of whoop ass.

I really hope you get your cab dude. Total Shitsville feeling I am sure.

Same here! Hate when this crap happens....especially when you have paid for it!
I had the same thing happen to me with the whole Grendel fiasco. I have......let's just say a relative who is in the business of retreiving things. I explained to the owner of the company that he was on his way down. Magically my ISO cab appeared via fedex on the tuesday morning.

Sucks man and sorry to hear. I thought it was a brilliant idea for ISO cabs though. Trace at Voodoo was going to do the same thing. Check with him and see if he got his line off the ground yet.

As for a shop owner asking for PP Gift - that is bullshit. If that ISO cab was $1000, his fees would be $30. If his livelihood depended on that $30, he shouldn't be in business anyway, so a big flag needs to go up, either way. From person to person, different story. But, not from a legit business.

He already established himself as a lying fucker. You probably won't see your money again. But, payback comes in different forms....
 
I just don't understand how people are ok with doing this to other people... and just "hoping" they won't show up at their door... I mean... I'm just a normal dude... and I can say with completely confidence I know of plenty of ways to find pretty much anybody out there within reason...

I'm a "principal" kinda guy... and $1,400 is enough for me to spend $500 more on plane tickets or gas or whatever just to show up at this assholes house....

Hope everything works out for you, I've read through the whole thread and I honestly think the sooner you just write it off and move on the happier you will be, that way if you ever DO get your cab it will just be a nice surprise...
 
On Thursday I got my cab!!!

I will say this: despite the long wait, Woody made good on his commitment, and the cab looks fantastic! Haven't tried it (will when I go to the studio this weekend), but quality-wise it's built like a tank!
