Briefly played the amp for a half hour or so tonight, all I can say is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love it, love it, love it!

Tight as fuck. More than enough gain for me. Ran a SD-1 into it.....prefer the amp without boost.

Clean and crunch sound great....I can see I am going to have trouble dialing in my settings because there are sooooo many good settings.

Like this much more than my Mark V.

No I have not owned a Recto before, almost bought a few in the last 6 months though. I have owned a Mark V 90watt, A Royal Atlantic 100 watt, and an Electradyne.

The Badlander comes stock with el34 power tubes, but you can run 6L6 as well. Mine is 50 watts so (2) el34 and (5) 12ax7.

Heard that.. I've owned a couple, and they definitely needed a boost to rid the flub. I know these Badlanders seem to be different animals, but a boost for the Solo 50 and Multi Watt "Reborn" I had, a boost was a must.
 
The GZ modded Recto doesn't need a boost, but that's a whole different animal too. Still takes boosts incredibly well though.
 
Had a Badlander 100. It was a cool amp, but I missed the massive wall of sound a Dual/Triple Rectifier bring to the table.

Never tried it with the Mr. Scary mod. Have heard it helps add saturation. Just prefer the gutteral lowend of the Dual/Triple.

The Badlander doesn't necessarily need a boost, but I prefer running one. It's tighter than a Dual/Triple. There is no lowend flub.
 
Congrats! Love to read positive vibe on the Badlander. I've never played one, but I have yet to run into a clip of one online that doesn't sound fantastic. If I was in the market for an amp, the Badlander would definitely be at the top of the short list. Would love to hear a few clips whenever you get the chance.

That is what I like about it, enough low-end for my playing, without any flub.

Also more than enough gain for me.

I can tell this amp will record very well, just like my Silver Jubilee.

Thanks. Not sure when I will have time to record, new Puppy in the house along with a massive backlog of projects. But will try.

Zero point zero pressure on any clips. I'm such a techno-dinosaur. I stepped away from music before the advent (explosion) of digital recording and never caught up. I'm good for a few iphone recordings when I get a new piece of gear. Once I hit retirement, I do want to invest my time and attention to putting a nice, but simple recording setup together. I know I will be asking a lot of basic questions here on RT when that time comes!!

Well, today it is pretty easy/affordable to have amazing recording gear ( untill you step up to external hardware and go down the studio mic rabbit hole.....lol).

It's a great amp! Had one a couple of years back and really liked it. Love to try it with the Mr. Scary module. Probably sounds amazing!
