How cool is this!? New Seymour Duncan gadget

It is $65 for a pair.

I kinda like it, but the stupid switches would get in my way if I located them on top or bottom of the bridge p-up. I wish they made the switched on the sides... The Historic rings have enough space on the sides to allow it.

I have no idea... I haven't delved that deep into it yet. One thing I noticed is that they're not curved... they may not fit on an LP.

Ingenious. Simple and obvious idea in retrospect - Makes me wonder why it took "so long" for someone to "invent" it. (and wish I did, and patented it too! )

I always say that there's a ton of obvious shit that could be invented and be really useful, but for some reason it's so hard to actually think of things like that.

I think besides this, having a plug-and-play solderless wiring harness of some flavor would KILL. EMG sets this up well with their pickups, wish all the PU manufacturers would go to this type setup. I think SD even uses that format on their Blackout pickups so you can pull EMGs out and put the Blackouts directly on. If you incorporated a harness like that with these pickup rings, I actually think it would improve their sales as people wouldn't be as daunted by the having to pull apart the guitar and solder every time they wanted to change pickups...just plug in the new one and blam-o, coil split/parallel/series the new pickup to your heart's content.

I've actually said on the Duncan board many times that someone should design something just like that...it would only increase their sales.
