Hi guys,
I have a Wolfetone Marshallhead in the bridge of my strat (set up for coil splitting) and want to try a Duncan Custom Custom in its place.
I had a guitar tech do the initial strat wiring for me but I want to attempt to wire in the Duncan myself. My issue is that the wiring codes for the two pickups are different.
Both pickups have black, white, red, green, and bare wires. But my understanding is that on the Wolfetone the red wire is hot, while on the Duncan the black wire is hot. I assume that the bare wire on each is to ground.
Other than that I'm lost on the others. I plan to just solder all the connections for the new pickup where the other pickup wire were soldered. But I need to know which Duncan wires are equivalent to the Wolfetone wires.
Can you help me figure out how they wires match up.
I guess the puzzle comes down to this:
Wolfetone Duncan
Red = Black (hot)
Green. =
White. =
Black. =
Bare = Bare (ground)
Can you help me solve it? Thanks for any guidance you can share! Cheers.
