How did Angus get such a horrible guitar sound with his gear

Mesas? Seriously? I thought Angus had only played Marshalls and SGs. What Mesa was he using?

Those Marshall 9000 series pre-amps were just awful. I remember when they were new in the store. It's almost like they were a ploy to make the 900 heads more appealing.

It's kind of like spanish peanuts... By themselves they are quite bland to eat. Add them to a bowl of vanilla ice cream with Hershey's syrup...
