Hands on. I had my previous amp listed for sale and someone offered me an even trade for his amp. We met up, tried 'em out and made the swap. It was something I'd never heard of and probably would never consider getting but it sounded good to me and I like it quite a bit now, a Peavey Classic 50 amp with the 115 cab. Not esoteric or high dollar by any means but it gets the job done. Now I'm looking for the 4 10 they made to go along with it, maybe a 2 12.

i'm using two at the moment - surreal cm 100 and friedman modded marshall dsl 100

the friedman was chosen because...well, i knew it would sound great (although this is a different mod than what's usually done on the 4 input marshalls) and i already have a DSL 50 which is a good amp in stock form

and the surreal i took a bit of a chance on as there weren't many audio clips of it around, so it was only really word of mouth (or this forum really). i spoke a lot to one person in particular about jerry's work, and i have to thank him for recommending surreal

Stumbled upon a pic of a bogner amp sitting on top an egnater head (or vice versa)from the 90's steve via tour.

Started checking them out in 2006 and I believe it was the vids by '63-Strat that helped seal the deal. Got lucky and was able to trade + cash for a 2007 20th A xtc in '08. My Mesa III was hands on in a music store that I have had since '95.

Oh and thanks '63-Strat for the great vids

went with a titan strictly based on youtube videos. changed from mesa single recto. totally happy with my decision.

For me it was initially trying what my favorite guitarists used, then lots and lots of trial and error. Tried out many many amps and guitars. I realized I was a Marshall and Gibson guy fairly early on, just had to narrow it down further to which Gibson and Marshall. Currently using various les Paul's ( custom, jr, goldtop, classic,) through a bray modded Marshall with 70's 4x12 with blackbacks.
