Wayne sold the company many years ago in a galaxy far far away.
They've changed materials, models, components and country of manufacture ever since.
I gave up long ago but thought they were onto something a few years back.
Of course they had to fuck that up too.
Charvel/Jackson brand has jumped the shark ...
Incorrect on a lot of counts. Wayne had NOTHING to do with Charvel ever becoming a successful guitar company. He sold the company in 1978 to Grover Jackson and any success Charvel ever had in those early days happened well after Grover was in command.
Charvel Jackson has not jumped the shark in a way that most other companies have not also done. Charvel still makes a top of the line, killer feeling custom shop guitar that rivals anything on the planet and is priced very competitively. So does Jackson. They also make import series guitars at more affordable price points too. If we want to eliminate all the companies that do that, there won't be too many left standing. Want a top of the line Charvel, Suhr, Gibson, Fender etc, buy a custom shop one. Want a more affordable version with a lot of the same features in a stripped down, don't have to worry about it as much package, buy an import.

I'd much rather have an $800 import from Mexico than from China or Korea.
Look dude i don't want to debate ancient history, Grover/Wayne whoever sold out a long time ago.
I can't remember things that aren't important from 35 years ago.
The brand has had more owners than a cheap Asian whore. They ain't gettin my money.
I got more gear than i need nao.
Enjoy your thrown-together, overpriced Les Pauls then. Nobody's forcing you to buy a Charvel.
See this is what I've been talking about for a while now. Some people come on here, want to get in on an argument without having the slightest idea what they're talking about, and when they get confronted with the REAL facts, suddenly it's "Oh, well, you know what I mean." or "I don't really care about the who/when/why/how, all I know is..."
You don't get to do that, bro. Democracy does not mean "my ignorance is as good as your intelligence". You either get your shit straight and contribute factual information, or you sit it out. Plain and simple. Throwing your hat into the mix with a scholar like Chubtone is like walking into the ring and slapping a professional boxer after you've been watching Rocky movies. You're gonna get embarassed.
