Sent a text to Greg (lolzgreg). He lives 200 feet from the water on Long island. Haven't heard back yet. Hope he is okay. He stayed behind to protect the studio and home. Best wishes!!!!

Well my house made it but there's 2 homes right near me with trees through them. Last night at 3:00am power came back on for 10 seconds then went out, then I heard what sounded like a stick of dynamite go off then power came back up. Can't believe I have power.

I REALLY REALLY hope that the Long Island guys are ok because NYC got hit with a 14 foot storm surge so if you were within a few hundred feet of the ocean you probabl got hit hard. I've been to Greg's place and I hope he moved his gear upstairs because you can see the beach from his house.

Hope you're all safe. Sandy is one mighty storm!!

I've lived through big cyclones by the coast (right by the beach) and they are very scary things. Make sure you've battened down the hatches and be prepared to evacuate inland in case of storm surges at the coast as well as flooding from rain.

Talked to Kage on FB About 1.5 hours ago, they are ok, no power though.

Bob, Carl is in LI and they got slammed last night with a huge storm surge and 80+ mph winds. It was bad. Lower east end of Manhatten was flooded and the subway tubes are filled, garages have cars floating in them.

I made out ok, one of 3 houses on my street that did not lose power but 50% of my town is dark right now. Helped clear two trees in roads so people could get out and power could be restored. CT shoreline was pounded, lots of lost homes and businesses.

Not good..................

Glad to hear things are seemingly "stable" at your pad, Scott. Hopefully Carl headed for higher ground.

Well, we're still here. There was lots of rain and wind but nothing crazy. We have a few branches down but that's about it. Looking at the news I see that we are pretty lucky...other folks did not do as well. So far, the death toll is around 30 and the property damage is the worse in many years.

A prayer for all of the folks that were not as fortunate.

Same here. The wind was bad but I thought it was going to get much worse.

We are among the few in the area that have power.

Here in the Poconos we had some wicked wind all night.Uprooted some hugw trees luckily they missed the house.blocked the driveway tho spent the morning chainsawing my way out.no power since last night.I do have a generator and ten gallons of fuel.I went through Katrina but last night I was really sweating since my house is surrounded by 100 ft trees and they were swaying and cracking all night. My moms house in Nj was not so lucky.Big ass tree dropped on it and blew out a picture window and came thru the kitchen skylights and dining room ceiling. Dan I dont think it will hurt the genny to run in the rain. I have a piece of plywood I just bungee over the top.

It was nasty! We had a couple of big limbs come down onto our wires but we were able to get them off. Tremendous amount of damage all around

Just read on FB that Steve Losyk, I think he posted here as SteveVHT, lost everything and was rescued by National Guard.

Hope everybody is safe! Ralph, Kage and the other guys, we're all thinking about you!

hope it didn't totally wash away

Damn, this is pretty awful. Feeling for you guys. For anyone else wondering, Luis V.(vultures) is alive but is going to be without power and internet for a few weeks it seems.

Still have not heard from Greg (lolzgreg) he was at ground zero. I have tried to contact him but no luck. Hope it is just because of power outages, etc.

I'm right in the middle of brooklyn. It was insane all around us, but right where I am it was pretty tame. couple of friends have had their businesses ruined, most likely for good. guy I used to work for in Red Hook had his whole shop flooded up to the ceiling. most folks I know got off easy. my uncle in manhattan had his basement flood, but his apartment was on the top floor so he's ok. From what I have seen and heard from friends with family in various parts of the city, Red Hook, Coney Island, the Rockaways, and Atlantic City got it the worst. I'll try and post some pics in a day or two.

worst we had here in Williamsburg/Bushwick was flickering power and no internet for a day or so. lots of signs and temporary walls around construction sites got blown down, but a 10 minute walk from us things got totally destroyed. Trains and busses are totally stopped, haven't been able to get anywhere for a couple days. Bloomberg is claiming 4 or 5 days on the subways, but we are figuring more like a week. subway stations in the city are full of water up to the ceiling. they just reopened the east river bridges today. word is they will be running free buses across into manhattan, but there's no info available where and when. Biggest pain for me so far is that I will be losing a week of pay, which will be tough. other than that it hasn't been terrible. got a bunch of food and booze and some "funny" brownies and locked myself in an apartment with an attractive lady friend. :D

hope the other guys on here in the area are ok. we got lucky and I hope they did too.

we are getting dumped on. 2' to 3'of snow in some places. odd considering we were in the high 70's a few days ago.
