Fairly heavy rains turned to snow here just east of Pittsburgh. Basement is leaking a bit, roof is leaking a bit. House is 130+ yrs old so I won't complain too much.

Power still on for the moment. Generator ready and waiting.

Kids are snug in their beds so I will call it a win for now.

Stay safe everybody! Things can be replaced...

Glad to hear it. How's the shop building holding up?

Contractor got the roof on before the rain started so he was able to start on the interior in the bad weather. I'd be more excited about it if I didn't just spend my whole tonewood budget on a goddamn generator lol...

....Girl Scouts....

LOL!

Danyeo, did you take that picture?

No that's on the Joisey website, www.nj.com

In other news the cast of Jersey Shore was calling in to 911 requesting an emergency evac from Seaside Heights. Initially the calls were to be ignored but due to the threat of an oil slick from said Guido's hair do's the entire crew was air lifted out. But the emergency teams have to pay $15,000 to be in the presence of the Jersey Shore cast and tax payers are getting stuck with the bill.

I have a generator but nowhere dry to run it. Last year I waited for rains to stop to run it, but I have fish tank and don't want my fish to die from a lack of Oxygen in the tank. I've been manually pouring water in or stirring it up which works but I gotta get at least 6 hours sleep.

I was thinking of a make shift cover with my daughters play house but that thing might blow away. The wind gusts are over 85mph. I can see one tree down and my side street just got taped off by the cops.

Glad to hear that... About the roof, not the wood budget.

put the playhouse over it. drill a few holes inside the playhouse, and bungee or wire the house to the genee...it wont go anywhere. stake the generator down with a chain or something. i'd figure out a way. mines on my backporch ready to go just in case.

shit, you could cut two vent holes in the sides of one of those big storage totes for ventilation, set the generator on the lid, put the tote over top of it, and you're set. put the play house over top of that and stake it down.

it's REALLY windy here right now..gonna shut the computer off now.

Any body getting any communication from Ralph?

Sent him and Kage texts but no response. Probably saving their batteries.

I heard from Kage earlier; no power, but he was ok. He and his son were riding it out in the dark.

I sent a message to Kage on FB abt 10 hours ago, he told me he and his son are doing fine but granted that's a long time ago.

Thoughts & prayers to all the east coasters. Stay safe. Those without power, if you have car chargers for cell and car isn't underwater...some may not think of it in all the craziness.

Hey fellas, thinking of you all, we get some minor updates in Australian newspapers but not much, hope you & your families are all safe and out of harms way.

Godspeed

I've sent Ralph a message on FB last night, and today. Haven't heard anything from him in a couple of nights.

Just heard from Kage... Still OK, no power, conserving battery. No word from Ralph.

Carl (cupcaketwins) is in RI too isn't he?

Ya heard from Kage and understood that Ralphie's ok as well, they're hanging in there. Couple of power losses along the way though.

Just read on FB that Steve Losyk, I think he posted here as SteveVHT, lost everything and was rescued by National Guard.

Hope everybody is safe! Ralph, Kage and the other guys, we're all thinking about you!

Stay safe guys, I feel your pain
Your all in our prayers, as are your families
We go through this crap usually once a year, sometimes 3 times in a year :aww:
One year we had 4, including 2 CAT 3's
It was the summer of living in a war zone :aww:

Just heavy winds here in Michigan. Lake Michigan has some big waves, but nothing like you guys are seeing on the east coast. My thoughts and prayers go out to you guys.

If anyone knows of a charity or fund for a relief effort, please post it. It may be too soon to have one, but I am sure there will be something set up.
