still no word on steve vht or carl?

Nope...

You can hit Steve on Facebook. He and his family were rescued by the National Guard. He said he lost everything....house, two cars and I believe his amp collection. He said the guitars were saved.
This is the only place I see Carl pop up so I hope he's okay.
Carl you out there?

I have a few friends that I haven't heard from that live on the shore. I hope they're ok. The small town of Union Beach was decimated, I have friends there that managed to get lucky but 200 homes there are gone. A bar/club in Sea Bright that I loved playing at is gone, Donovans Reef, that place was right on the ocean.

The Stone Pony in Asbury Park survived. The peir at the Tiki bar in Point Pleasant is gone. The town of Belmar is flooded. A few weeks ago I was in Point PLeasant with my 3 year old daughter and I can't beleive what it looks like now from the footage I'm seeing on TV. There's an aquarium there that survived but they're running low on gas for generators, they have some huge tanks with sharks, seals, and other fish but they need power soon.

Gets me pissed off when I go on YouTube and I see people making fun of the whole situation when this is home to me. Fuck them, despite what some stupid tv show is about the Jersey Shore is a great place and most anyone that comes here in the Summer loves it. Makes me want to shut the net off and just worry about what's important.

Hey Everybody, Just wanted to jump in and say hey from NYC. We've been without power since about 9 on Monday and from all accounts , we'll be without it for another 4-5 days. My son and I did fine through the storm, it blew like crazy but my only concern was windows getting smashed. I kept him occupied and it didnt bother him in the least. When reports of how long we would be without power came in, I had his mother get him out to Long Island where she has family and they werent brutalized so hes out there at least through the weekend.

I live 2 blocks from the evacuation zone and it was crazy to see what happened that close to me. I saw cars floating in the street and friggin 2 foot long fish clogging the sewer drains LOL!!! A bunch of trees on my block got mangled but Im amazed at the overall lack of damage on my block considering how hardcore it was blowing. I thought that I was come out to a warzone when it was over and that wasnt the case. No power and sketchy communication at best...

The last of my slavagable food is getting cooked tonight . I cooked up a storm last night and fed most of my building. The thing that sucks is that I did a hell of alot of shopping and the freezer and fridge were stocked. I have a serious pet peeve when it comes to wasting or throwing out food so Ill be feeding an assload of people again tonight. Last night my neighbor and I downed a bottle and a half of Scotch and that definitley added to the misery but as screwed up as things are, they could be SO MUCH worse and Im cool..

At the moment, Im at my buddy Darins( Bigdaddyd here) apt uptown where its like nothing happened. I have internet and power here so I get to do some work, recharge the phones before I have to finagle the 70 block trip back downtown. I had other options but nothing as convenient as this so Darin, God Bless you and many thanks for helping a brother out...

So thanks for all the well wishes and concern, Im ok and hangin in and looking forward to all this BS passing. I never thought that Id say this but lack of communication, power and being unjacked from the net really sucks, even more than the cold showers that Ive taken the last 2 days ( im still waiting for my testicles to redescend !!!)

Kage

glad to hear you, your son and home are ok. ive only spoke to two people in NY so i thought of you, hah. I was going to call but i figured that youre probably getting so many calls like that already, i didnt want youre phone to blow up. i thought id check here first. :)

I lived in Monmouth County for awhile back in the 80s. I was cringing when I heard about the damage hitting the coast. I used to go to Asbury Park in the summers and walk up and down the boardwalk (and yes, even meet girls under the boardwalk). I hope your friends are safe and things get back to normal for you soon.

For any of my fellow Jerseyans, as of 30 minutes ago, the Home Depot in Parsippany had generators in stock.

Also, the Wawa in Parsippany has been open around the clock pumping gas. Long line though...

There is a guy in my class that has made fun of it repeatedly. Saying it's just another storm and people die everyday.... What a fuck head!! Seriously, wait until something hits him close to home or someone he cares about gets hurt. I have friends out there and I wasn't happy about him talking shit. :gethim: For all he knows, I or someone else could have lost family out there. Jerk.

Prayers sent, brother.

Finally made it home for the first time since Sunday last night. Had to walk 2.5 hours from brooklyn to upper west side Manhattan at night. Halfway across the Williamsburg Bridge, there was no power. I didn't reach a neighborhood with power again for an hour and a half, i.e. around 34th and 9th avenue. Walking for 40 blocks and across 8 avenues at 11pm with no electricity in this city was one of the most surreal things I've ever experienced. parts of the city were so dark I couldn't see my hand in front of my face. what was really wild was it seemed all the cops were concentrated in certain areas (like normal main intersections), and then you could walk 15 blocks and not see another cop. Cabs won't pick people up in the blackout areas. I'm supposed to move to a new apartment today, gonna be interesting. Not to mention that the payroll office for my job is in the blackout zone, and they don't know when they are going to be able to get me a paycheck. going to volunteer tomorrow at a YMCA that is housing 500 elderly that are without power. and to top it all off, they are still running the marathon this weekend.

Talked to Greg today (lolzgreg) He lives on Long Beach about a few hundred feet from the water! He said his house is up pretty high and the crawl space was flooded and water did go up past the first floor door jam but most of his home was okay, but he was very lucky, most of the homes and cars were destroyed around him.

I live right near Atlantic City and we got it pretty bad. Two trees fell through my house and it's quite a wreak to say the least. I guess I can be thankful It didn't do as much damage as people along the shore got, atleast I have power, ect. A few of my friends home were literally washed away. Most people have severe flooding problems and islands like Ventor, Margate, Brigintine, Atlantic City are just opening up today for people to come back to their homes. It's absolutely insane and we were the first area to get hit by the storm full force.

Good luck to everyone that's been hit, I'm trying to do my part with donations and letting people use my generators but I can only go so far with how bad these trees got us.

Hey guys, I just wanted to check in \m/

First off, thank you to everyone who was concerned about my fellow Long Islanders and me. I am perfectly fine, while most of Long Beach was in ruins. The ocean met the bay, and my house was literally in the middle of the Atlantic. Water came up halfway up my door jamb and retreated... I think a bit more than luck was involved, and I thank the big man up in the sky for allowing me to hold on to the things I have worked so hard for. I have no water or power, and my brother and sister-in-law lost their cars, but my entire family is safe.

the4thlast1 (Chris) is fine.
Gainfreak (Ralphie) as many of you know is okay, but had trees down all over.
SteveVHT saw the worst of this. He lost everything aside from his gear as far as I know. I will be helping him out tomorrow in any way possible to get his life back together. I have been helping friends all over Long Beach/Long Island in need. My best friend will be staying with me over the weekend, because his apartment was trashed.

My prayers go out to anyone who was affected by this disaster.

Talked with some of my family & friends out there .... praying for all.

Shit Kyle! I didn't realize you were that close!

Dang! Kylendm, Lolzgreg, Ralph/Gainzilla, Kage, danyeo and colimofsmoke (and all others in the storm's path), I'm glad to hear you guys were not hurt. Sorry about the property damage and the tough few days (and those to come), but it can all be replaced. It puts our internet squabbling over politics, gear, etc into perspective. Look forward to having you guys back.

Keep your chin up, and just think of all the cool new gear you can buy with the insurance money!

Yeah but everything is ok. I didn't lose anything other than a roof haha but we have someone coming over tomorrow to remove the trees and then we can get things back together. It's scary as shit getting hit in the head with sheet rock and then looking up to see a branch above my head in my kitchen. Just insane.

The bigger question is, "Why were you sleeping in your kitchen?"

:D
