Hey Everybody, Just wanted to jump in and say hey from NYC. We've been without power since about 9 on Monday and from all accounts , we'll be without it for another 4-5 days. My son and I did fine through the storm, it blew like crazy but my only concern was windows getting smashed. I kept him occupied and it didnt bother him in the least. When reports of how long we would be without power came in, I had his mother get him out to Long Island where she has family and they werent brutalized so hes out there at least through the weekend.
I live 2 blocks from the evacuation zone and it was crazy to see what happened that close to me. I saw cars floating in the street and friggin 2 foot long fish clogging the sewer drains LOL!!! A bunch of trees on my block got mangled but Im amazed at the overall lack of damage on my block considering how hardcore it was blowing. I thought that I was come out to a warzone when it was over and that wasnt the case. No power and sketchy communication at best...
The last of my slavagable food is getting cooked tonight . I cooked up a storm last night and fed most of my building. The thing that sucks is that I did a hell of alot of shopping and the freezer and fridge were stocked. I have a serious pet peeve when it comes to wasting or throwing out food so Ill be feeding an assload of people again tonight. Last night my neighbor and I downed a bottle and a half of Scotch and that definitley added to the misery but as screwed up as things are, they could be SO MUCH worse and Im cool..
At the moment, Im at my buddy Darins( Bigdaddyd here) apt uptown where its like nothing happened. I have internet and power here so I get to do some work, recharge the phones before I have to finagle the 70 block trip back downtown. I had other options but nothing as convenient as this so Darin, God Bless you and many thanks for helping a brother out...
So thanks for all the well wishes and concern, Im ok and hangin in and looking forward to all this BS passing. I never thought that Id say this but lack of communication, power and being unjacked from the net really sucks, even more than the cold showers that Ive taken the last 2 days ( im still waiting for my testicles to redescend !!!)

Now, I just hope his gear survived. Not important in the grand scheme, but he has a LOT of nice gear. If his Baron got damp or moist in any way, I may have to take it and give it a once-over.
