I'm already quite impressed. Though I've been playing for close to 30 years and learned and forgotten TONS of licks, riffs, solos, etc, I never really paid too much attention to theory. I did it and music appreciation classes back in high school in like 1998 but that's all long gone. However, I've already had 2 pretty useful revelations in just watching a handful of videos from it today. Adding chromaticism to just a basic pentatonic scale for a little extra flavor in basic blues sounding licks and more importantly, the formula for building any mode out of 3 note per string patterns. I already knew how to build modes from the major scale, and have known that for years, but the very little I intentionally played with them, I just used the same fingering pattern and started/ended on different notes. Fine for building very simple licks if I had wanted, but not easy to play since not all parts were 3 notes per string. He showed the basic patterns for starting each mode, then how to add them together in a particular sequence to build 3 note per string mode runs.

I'm already quite excited with just what I've learned today and now I have some new stuff to add to practice sessions to increase my knowledge and tricks to draw from when I want to jam over something.

Right on man. Everyone has an opinion on Tyler’s YouTube channel, but he is a great player and I’ve heard lots of good things about him as a teacher.
The great thing about guitar is that you can always learn something new, no matter how long you’ve been playing.

That’s awesome, I never looked at his, but I did buy the Beato courses. He had a special in early January, all 4 of his courses for $79 or $99 can’t remember. They are really good, I’ve been working through the courses called “Beato Book Interactive” and enjoying it.

I figured $60 was way cheaper than taking lessons from someone local for long enough for some things to start making sense and lights to go off in my head :ROFLMAO:

Never knew about this. I will probably get into it.

I wish there were some demo videos of it or he had a free section people could look at to see what it was like, but I just figured I'd go for it. I knew I could at least get $60 worth out of all the videos he has in it.

I've been thinking about super system vs Tim Pierce's course. Tim's is like $150 per year.

I thought he only did subscriptions? Where'd you get this deal?

Actually, a few years ago I bought his Guitar Super System Level 1 course off Udemy for $10. He had it broken down to three courses and I should have bought them all because they were all $10 a piece. He has since pulled out of that and doesn't support them anymore which is cheesy of him but I still have access to the original one.

I thought it was pretty mind blowing. He is basically teaching you what you would learn at Berkley and there is some cool stuff there. It has been a while since I have gone through it but the three note per string patterns blew my mind the way he teaches them. There were a couple of other things too.

The guy is a little obnoxious but these lessons are worth $60 for sure.

I just got offered a year's subscription for Lick Library for half price and jumped on it. I've learned a ton from them.

It's $10 a month or $60 for the year, that's what I did, a year's subscription. I should be able to get most of what I need for $60 in a year.

I signed up for David Wallimans courses last year. it just comes down to finding a teacher you can connect with.

I thought about doing this a couple of years ago on a black friday sale and it was $5 a month then.. He has to pay for that mini mansion he lives in now in Nashville I guess. I did sign up for a free month and discovered that most of the good stuff was in the Super System 1 course I own and have lifetime access to at Udemy so I cancelled. He wasn't really happy about it because he made a smart ass remark in the email but he cancelled it. The level 1 system I own is enough to keep me busy for a lifetime.. so glad I got it there when it was available for $10. I like the format of it more at Udemy than his subscription system too. But he is a great teacher and player and blew my mind like no other teacher or lesson I've ever had. If I ever master the system 1 have I might sign up for his subscription and see if the more advanced lessons are worth it. Several things are free on his YT channel too.. or used to be. $60 is still a great deal for all that IMO.

i dont know why but i hate that channel
I don't hate it but I had to cancel my subscription to his YT channel because he annoys me a lot there. You can tell his is raking in the dough from his millions of followers on YT and his subscription plan though.
