I have been halfassed looking for online lessons to improve my fretboard knowledge and work on being a lead player a bit better. Just not sure where to start at. I have virtually no music training, I just happened to pick up songs by ear and took off. Guess I should stop researching Marshall mods and start looking for lessons.

hi, have you kept using the system, or did you move on to something else? I'm always looking for ways to stay motivated with practice, and I’m wondering if the structure helped long-term. Anyone else here have an update on how it's held up after the initial excitement wore off?

I was using it balls to the wall there for a couple months, but I after a while I didn't have as much time to practice and eventually just didn't use it anymore. It has some good, easy to understand stuff at the beginning like exercises for triad building, drills for learning the notes on the fretboard, mode theory/shapes, etc, but it started getting over my head after that.

It’s really cool when you have those “Aha!” moments after years of playing – it feels like you’ve unlocked a new level. Chromaticism really spices things up, and building modes with 3-notes-per-string is a game-changer for fluidity. I had a similar experience diving into some online lessons and learning a ton of new stuff that made my playing feel smoother and more intentional. If you want to explore even more, https://www.artmaster.com/artie has been great for me, especially when I needed some structure.
