I did a little Test Mix: Genelec 8040bpm + AKG 271Mk2

Any thoughts?
I won't be at my studio for a proper listen for another couple of weeks. I only have my Logitech speakers at my office here, but it sounds very nicely balanced, especially with where the drums are sitting. I can't comment on anything EQ-wise with these speakers. Maybe if you post a comparable mix you made on the Neumanns. I do have my Meze headphones here so I can listen to both mixes on those later on.

id say its a bit cleaner sounding and less low end then your usual mixes, guitars are a bit more forward

Thanks for confirming. I guess that was due to the 8040s, but i still packed them up today :D
I was a bit lost in the decision process. Lots of evaluating. But 310s and AKG 271 MK2 it is.
Gotta watch the low end a bit more carefully.

Thanks. Yes, you're right. Without a comparable mix it's kinda useless.
But "nicely balanced" sounds good to me, when you say that.
FYI: I packed the 8040 and back they go. I will keep my 310s and the AKG 271Mk2.

Sounds nice and clean, no wash from the guitars, the drums are nice.

I always get a bit thrown off my modern production though. Listening on my speakers, I was wondering if it was possible to get those massive bass sounds that most modern bands have these days, with the bass dominating the guitar.

Still a sick production. I enjoyed that.

Thanks. The Guitars were recorded on very low volume and the Bass too. I re-recorded it with a bit more volume and it's better now. Modern Productions are very produced. Some would say overproduced. In my clip it's just a single 57, two tracks, hard panned left/right and a bass and no EQ and just a basic Superiour Drummer Drumkit. Maximizer and some Tape Presence on the Master. That's all.
