This sounds like a rational solution. But the problem is when you ignore a member that spams threads, the other members are not ignoring them and they completely hijack threads.
Now I completely don't hate the occasional thread hijacking. But there is an artful way to do it, and a dipshit way.

He incited multiple threats and got a simple question turned into 1000 responses involving a few borderline meltdowns, while moving goal posts every few pages. Yes, EVH was technically involved in the OP, but not in the traditional sense! That's the definition of successful trolling.... lol...
