I've been debating on trying a Nasty Nasty as well. I have a Detroiter and think its a great pickup as well. I haven't been able to find much info on the Nasty Nasty that really told me what is different about it vs. the Detroiter though.

I really like the 2nd Degree BBs in my Les Paul. It is amazing how when you play thru a great sounding pickup, you don't need as much output to get the tone. I have played so many different pickups over the years and really it is like different flavors. I'm still going to sound like me but sometimes it is good to have to dig in a bit more. And anyway, "heavy" is such a hard thing to pin down when it comes to tone.

What Can you guys tell me about the Solutions? I have been an EMG 81 User forever & have really been considering going back to passive pickups.

As Wade mentions on his website, replacing active pickups is the basic intent of the Solution pickup. When I changed over from actives (EMGs, Blackouts), it was a real eye, or should I say, ear opener. I didn't understand until that point what I had been missing. The Solution pickup is par excellence for heavy tones. That's its specialty. It's got this dry, percussive attack that's perfect for aggressive metal riffing. And the pickup feels open and uncompressed, something I prefer since it allows me more control over how compressed I want to make things by adjusting pedals or the amp. Chords ring out with clarity and aggression. Harmonics, cut, etc., it's all there with the right balance of bass frequencies for hefty chunk but which don't overwhelm the rest of the frequency spectrum. Works great for downtuning, too. I keep putting Solutions into guitar after guitar and loving the results! (I like the alnico version of the pickup.) I'd encourage you to give them a shot and see what others have been raving about.

Tighter and slightly higher output version of the Detroiter.

This is correct. It's not a lot hotter but enough to be noticeable. It's also slightly more open up top, which gives it a slightly brighter tone. Both great pickups.

Thank You, you gentlemen are extremely nice. I love you guys ;) Such an honor to hear such kind words and actions.
Blessings to you guys.
Peace and love, W

I sent Wade a message but wanted to ask here.

The guitar is an HH Strat. I 'think' I want a Detroiter bridge...perhaps an Afwayu but it has to have a good clean tone. I like an open/airy/bright neck pickup. Which would likely fit the bill better, a BB neck or a 2nd Degree BB neck? When I think Alnico 4 (BB) I think open/airy so I'm leaning that way right now.

I love my standard BBs and my Bareknuckle Mules, but these 2nd degree BBs are just so inspiring!

I've been thinking of putting in some 2nd Degree BBs in my Les Paul. I have an Aldrich in there now.

How do the 2nd BBs compare to the Aldrich?

I have had both and the Aldrich is way hotter and more compressed. The 2nd Degrees kick ass IMO especially in a LP style guitar. I have a 2nd Degree in the bridge of my Heritage 150 CM and T-Wreck in the neck.
How are they working for you? I have plans to do the same, but i can't figure out if the 2nd Degree bridge and T-wreck neck, will work with a LP standr or with a Les Paul Custom.

I have the 2nd degree BB and T Wreck combo in my R8. Works great.
