Thankfully the wealth of humour here at RT isn't "quarantined" / restricted to OTC.

You should ban people who joined to post there only.

If you don't play guitar and talk rigs, is it appropriate to allow access? Many appear to be paid shills and do not feel like organic user posts. I believe this is being done to prevent serious political discussion because we have been at war and the enemy makes war by deception, OPENLY.

I disagree. RT should have no bans, maybe a 1 day ban unless someone gets crazy. If we want free speech, it truly must be for all, until it harms someone in a real way. After all, this is a forum for guitar and entertainment..right?

I think we should have bans that can be reversed by purchasing the mod who used the ban hammer a nice pair of Carlos boots.

The thing is 'though Nigel, there aren't any members who fit this description.

It's long been a low-tier criticism that sounds good and people jump onto it, and yet to my knowledge it's never been the case.

Sure, some peeps post way more there than in the main sub-forum, but none exclusively so.

As for the "paid shills" observation, I've never been aware of a member's fitting that description either. If anyone can point me to one I'd be happy to take it up with him / her 'cause obviously nobody here wants that.

I only play bass these days. The main forum doesn’t have a lot of discussion when it comes to bass. Occasionally I will make a comment in the main forum but it’s usually when I’m feeling nostalgic of my guitar playing days.

Edit: maybe a sticky in the main forum for bass discussion would be cool.

My guitar playing has peaked and due to physical limitations, it ain’t getting any better.

I’ve gotten in to keyboards and synths in the last several years. Guitar is still the primary and will always be the first love, but playing all of the parts has more of a draw these days. My “Rig” has grown now that I’m adding bass and keys.

It's nothing but trolls who never post in other forums on the site. There are only here to troll, pick fights and add zero value to a guitar gear forum.
I see no reason to give them any voice. New Trolls seemingly pop up every day. Shut it down.

I played keys for a few years. I had a massive obsession with anything Hammond organ and Vox Continental (still do). Rebuilding a guitar rig is out of the question at the moment, as my funds are limited. I played guitar for 21 years though and I did feel I hit a peak as well, however I also developed a lot of bad technique over the years and that was a bit difficult to iron out. As I got older, I definitely lost the patience I had in my younger years lol.

With bass I am taking it super slow to ensure I have good technique, and any bad technique I have developed will be easier to catch and fix early. I still deal with overwhelming GAS now that I am on bass, but I have to remind myself that I need to focus on getting good and not dropping money on bass gear right now. I have a long way to go. Thankfully, I am pretty content with my current tone. I do believe that lousy tone can be a killer when it comes to motivation.

I think a channel where they talk about how bad other channels are could be profitable.

100% agree.

I was a mod for a bit a few years ago and I kept it clean, but excusing nonsense as policy prevailed, much to the chagrin of the old guard. Use that ignore function and starve the jerks of attention.
