Reiterating once-again:
The bottom line is that we don't "micromanage" peeps' behaviour. In exceptional cases, yes, with "gentle" prods, but of course overall it'd be a full-time job to regulate language and attitudes in a locker room situation such as OTC is most of the time.

The most-efficient approach IMHO is the one we've taken - ban when members blatantly break the most-reasonable of rules (there're only 3 or 4) and in turn refuse to withdraw / apologise and go on to repeat-offend.

I know you're a reasonable (and intelligent) fella so I hope that you at least understand where I'm coming from here.

Gotta tell ya, there isn't. If pressed to sum it up succinctly, I'd say that we're fostering an American "environment" of free speech, such as it is in the US. OTTOMH I'm guessing that X, since Elon bought it, has adopted pretty-much the same rule set.

Some peeps won't like that and good luck to them I say; they can hang out at BlueSky and Reddit and have themselves a scintillating time.

The beauty of the site is, unlike TGP and TDPRI, the mods don't heavily censor people even when they have distasteful opinions. I for one am glad you decided to spend more time here. I would just avoid the OT. Or, if you want a sanitized version just place people you don't want to hear on ignore. Don't engage the shitslingers with shitslinging and most of them will take a more reasonable tone. But yeah, there are a couple guys who aren't interested in debate, mainly because they aren't able to verbalize a cogent thought. Just know that you are a valued member here.

For the most past I agree but if you shout fire in a movie theater, you're in deep shit.
