My wife doesn't question my deliveries, but If I tell her i am selling something she looks at me with this look. When I told her I was selling my Splawn, she said "No Way. You love Splawn. Not happening!" I said, but I want another Splawn. She still looked at me in utter confusion. As I went ahead with things, I could tell she was pissed...but in the end, she got over it.

Why are you married to someone who controls you. This kind of shit is a pet peeve of mine. Guys hiding guitars/amps gear from wives, lying about costs etc it is sad...ya'll married the wrong woman or just enjoy handing in the nutsack and being pussy whipped. And then think it funny posting about how whipped you are. Quit buying shit and save money for a divorce attorney as it sounds like you'll need in the not too distant future. If you lie about simple shit like gear what else are you dishonest about? Honesty is the best policy in all things.

Some folks need a mother figure to tell em what they can and cant do...I don't get why anyone would want to be in a relationship like that myself.

I've been married to the same woman for 23 years...she never tells me what I can or can't do. I have an assload of expensive gear and if she asks the cost I tell her the truth. I don't ask her if I can buy anything I just buy it and ask her if she can be home when it will be delivered so she can sign for it. Then again I a responsible adult that puts family first before myself..I don't miss the mortgage or buy gear I can't afford to pay cash for or if something else is a priority for us.

She likes me to have my toys, just that i have not told her that the amp was coming in today and i really hate the fact that we have people over for dinner and i di not know.

You could try the following:

1. Confiscate a necessary ingredient for dinner. She will have to leave to get more.

2. Get in your car and wait down the street for any FedEx truck that arrives. Flag down truck, check for amp, present ID, take control of amp.

3. When Fedex pulls up...light small kitchen fire to distract wife. Run outside before driver rings bell, take control of amp.

4. Claim trade, taking delivery of amp for buddy who isn't home, etc...she may simply forget and/or not be able to ID new amp among other amps.

5. Use my method and announce "HE WHO MAKES THE GOLD MAKES THE RULES. I SHALL HAVE A NEW AMP TODAY, TODAY IS NEW AMP DAY."

6. After using #5, use my method of escape and run screaming down into the basement and hide behind the bar.

Meh... you haven't beat-down your wife enough yet. Mine just rolls her eyes now. She fought the good fight for years, but trying to stop me from the gear merry-go-round would be like trying to stop a river from flowing downhill. So far she must still think that even with my gear-addiction, I'm a net positive. And like I always remind her "hey... at least it's not a gambling or drug habit... you'll have ALL KINDS of crap to sort through and sell once I'm gone!" LOL... she does NOT look forward to dealing with that mess.

P.S. Speaking of Bogner XTCs... she discovered that I had bought mine (Classic) one night when I was tossing and turning at 4:00 AM. She asked me, "why are you so restless this morning"? I reply "cause I just paid $2250 on ebay for an XTC". She took it in stride after I promised her that I would sell my Shiva to fund it. That was several years ago. She doesn't even bat an eye at those purchases now. Walked right in and talked to me as I was holding my Anderson Drop Top several times and didn't even notice. Had to inform her that it was new. As long as I pay my fair share of the monthly bills, she just lets me play my little games.
