There is like a 2+ yr wait to order from ESP Custom Shop JAPAN.
They've been like this for a few years now.
What I want to know is WHO THE FUCK IS ACTUALLY BUYING THESE?
Wow, didn't realize they had reached that level. It had the mini toggles for coil splits and everything way back then, was fully loaded.
I don't recall it having the stripes through the body and it was overall a lighter blue than that but it's been a long time, close to 35 years.....I have a picture someplace in an old photo album. I'll have to try and dig it up this week and look. That's honestly underselling it a little bit, the blue burst is one of the most desired colors
Even the diarrhea burst are 4-5k

The blue burst, fulled loaded is one of the most desired guitars from that era - this one is actually a "deal" at 7k

That's a standard too, not one of the higher end models with crazy flame tops

Yeah it's not a huge deal, i'm just tellin ya
Them shit's is EXPENSIVE
Like, expensive as hell
The only reason I know is because 80s BCRs are one of my favorite guitars ever, and I will literally never be able to afford one lol
Fortunately, the current production BCR Legacy series gives a worthy and authentic playing experience, although the cosmetics are more basic compared to the OGs.
They look fine, and im sure some of them play great, but there's no way I'm spending that kind of money for a guitar made in SK or India
I don't judge you for finding the math works out for you, I just can't do it
1500 bucks is just way, way too high for me for a guitar that isn't made in the USA, Japan, or Germany or something
So you've never played any of them and reached that conclusion?
I've played 3 Legacy MIKs, all very high quality. They need a pro level setup, but then, that applies to most guitars. But the bones are there.
I've also played one USA Eagle, which I stupidly didn't buy as it was a bit of a stretch for me then, but looking back, GC was selling it for peanuts!
The Legacy series gives you the playing experience, including the odd 24-5/8" scale. Much like how you can get the Les Paul experience without paying $5000 for one. The design kicks ass! Just needs to be executed reasonably well and it will work.
No, I have played two that were complete and utter shit, with razor sharp fret ends, a truss rod at the end of its travel, and incorrectly mounted bridge posts
I was simply being respectful because I assumed from your comment that you owned a good one
And yeah, I disagree about Les Pauls too - you can buy an excellent les paul classic or les paul traditional or whatever for well under 1500 dollars. In fact, I've played Les Paul studios that were incredible playing guitars, though those are more difficult to find
That would be the move that someone like BC Rich could make production wise and make a literal killing. Do all their main body shapes in a Jackson Metal/ESP Black metal simplified or bare bones run in black/white/gray, make it in the USA, put a single EMG or Fishman in the bridge
All 3 of the Legacy BCRs I played were excellent. And great hardware, too. Just so-so factory setup, which is easily remedied. They were made between ~2019 and 2022 or so; don't know if they went downhill after that....
You didn't ready my statement about LPs-----I said you DON'T have to spend tons of money to have a great LP experience. I've played plenty of cheaper LPs that rocked big time, and I don't think there is a need to spend $5K to have an authentic LP. The design is legendary.....
That’s me on the far left, and my little cousin playing my blue sunburst Bich back in 1985.That's honestly underselling it a little bit, the blue burst is one of the most desired colors

Not long before that I bought it used for $575 and it fucking ruled. Was my main axe up until around ‘89 when I got bit by the Flying V bug and never looked back.
Sold it to my buddy who still has it to this day.

6k is the new $3500. Nothing to worry about....
We should start a trend where some other guitar becomes the new thing. Then all of these prices will drop like panties at a Poison show.
Was browsing some gear on shitwater tonight. The amps seem to have been affected worse than the guitars. $1400 for a deluxe reverb TONE MASTER, lol, at some point the industry will collapse with those prices.This. Gear prices have gone up a lot during the last few years.

Indeed. One could get a nice CS Strat for around 4k€ 2-4 years ago and now they are 6k€. I just bought a new IIC+ RI for 3666€ with discount price from a big European online shop and a 1959HW Marshall for 1975€ (pre-price hike price) from a small EU country’s shop which hasn’t arrived yet. The IIC+ RI costs 4499€ in Finland and the 1959HW prices have jumped to 2599€. Insanity.
