I can't just only say that Ed is the greatest rock n roll guitar player ever, but as a complete musican and his creative approach to writing...no one could touch him IMO.
Well lets be fair, Diver Down, Fair Warning and 1984 were all 80's records with Dave. There's plenty of awe inspiring playing on 5150 and OU812 as well. Only mentioning Love walks in is like saying all Nuno Bettencourt ever did was More than words.

Eddie is one of those guys that is regarded as THE ONE . only once in awhile is there a guy who just kills and reaches that legend status, just like CLAPTON,PAGE,RANDY,HENDRIX,SRV,GILMORE. Lynch will never reach that legend status, even though the guy just rips. to bad. as for my favorite EVH can do no wrong, except for VHlll, dont really like that one to much.
True, and that guy has never really rested on his laurels, y'know? He's (still) always striving to improve, which is admirable.
Nice guy, too - but what cracks me up is watching interviews with him: In one breath, he'll say "I don't know theory", and then he'll say "Right here I'm throwing in the flat 7th degree of the scale..."
Always thought the J. Frog guitar was cool...what did he call the original? It had some silly name like "Mom" or something...
A friend of mine owns another one of the original J. Frogs (similar to the one posted above but with a real glass eye - looks trippy) that was apparently also owned by Lynch for 5 minutes in the late 80s/early 90s, it has what is purportedly a prototype of the Screamin' Demon in it...I'll ask if it's OK to post a pic of it.
