I think I just hit a breaking point.

I was able to listen to a few of the songs. Is sounds pretty awesome. Although it sounds like you are ripping your vocal cords apart when you are singing. Killer tone BTW!

I'm diggin' the music a lot Shea! Right up my alley. Dirty, raunchy rock. Keep on keepin' on bro.

Great stuff. Nice to hear a B3 (was it a B3 or ?) again. Good old hard rock n' roll (and that 'n roll part has been missing too long for me).

Trolling HCAF but Im actually serious.

I hate the music business. I hate LA. I hate every single piece of shit that says something and either doesnt follow up on it or just doesnt really care.

I hate every piece of shit that fronts like they know what they're talking about but never proves it.

FUCK YOU MUSIC INDUSTRY. IM GOING TO KICK YOU IN THE FUCKING NUTS.

Now, tell me how much my mastered album sucks.

Im going to be straight up with you. I think that there is a fire captured in these recordings. I think that the guitar tone is killer and the vibe is there. If the goal was to make a straight up/ raw no frills rock record without over production and over processing then mission accomplished but I will agree that I think the mastering could have been better..... Much better. Id also think that the bass player would be pissed because he is lost in the MIX...well at least he is on my shit pc speakers at work :hys:

Ive loved this since I heard the first raw tracks. Not sure whats going on but regardless of what happens, I think that you should be mega proud of what you recorded because its kicks all kinds of ass. Its got me really looking forward to the follow up...

I have been waiting to hear this and now I can't access it do to some new work computer crap. Someone youtube this thing!

So I have listened to this off and on for the last few days. It fucking ROCKS. I don't dig a lot of modern rock but this is great in every way. In some ways it reminds me of fu-manchu, but thats just a vibe thing probably. I think the tracks need way way more bass wallop. My subwoofer is sitting here going wtf wheres my meat.

This shit is killllller.

+1. I won't comment on the sound because I've just been listening on my computer but the songs/hooks range from pretty strong to really strong, and there is a great live energy to it. I would buy this, no question.

I dig the flavor you're going for but I do have some things I would alter, all IMO of course.
1. Mix is a little cluttered where the guitars and vocals fight too much. Drums need a little more bite. Are you a guitar player first and then a singer? The vocals need to be louder, or guitars down a little.
2. I would have prefered song structure serving the vocals a bit more as opposed to getting licks and solo breaks in. I only say that because there's always plenty of time for a good break or solo but the tunes have longevity when there's good vocal hooks. Also varying the way you choose your attack and phrasing of your melodies. Definable verse to chorus movement as opposed to riffing words over a rockin jam.

Once again all IMO but also well done on keepin' your dream and some rock alive.

Shea, your album is awesome. Currently playing on my computer as I type.

I think the tunes are very cool. I like it.

I really dig that style of playing.

I agree with some of the comments above about the production on the tracks though.

I cant even begin to explain how fucked up I was when I started this thread. Venting online while drunk sure is embarrassing.

Dude, this album is amazing!! Seriously, it's killer as hell! Were you using your Marshall for the entire thing?
We rented a white '71 Superlead and a greenback cabinet while I was recording at Nightbird Studios.

This is one of the things Im not happy about the mastering. Im not a fan of direct bass either. In fact, Im not a fan of direct anything. I want a cranked up tube SVT knocking shit off the walls.

BTW I should probaby explain why I was feeling so frustrated. I feel like I dont really have any say in this process. Im sitting around in Austin waiting to here something. Its cool ifs not gonna happen, and Im ok with that, but Id rather just know that so I didnt have that feeling of being in artistic limbo.

Not that I feel like that right now, I was just fucked up at the time.

Set it to DL at the end of the day yesterday and just got it loaded into iTunes today at work man. Definitely will give ya an honest opinion if that's what you want... I will say, starting at the first tune, I like the riff rock vibe... I like the raw all around feel.

Peace.

Don't make me fly down there and beat you with your own pants. :gethim:

Only a good, good friend can beat one with their own clothing. I want pics. :) Or... next NAMM? I might be able to come again. ;)

I'll give you the first impressions between machine builds... :)

I think #3 is well placed, slightly different vibe, really like that you went more of a major feel for the solo. I think I remember this one, weren't you working with that intro guitar/vox thing when I was out in Austin last?
