I find this one pretty damn amazing despite the price:

It's pretty much the J Custom equivalent of the neck-through RGT320z made several years ago. And the Yen/USD exchange rate right now is about 1000:1.

Yesterday, on my local craigslist, I posted a feeler, I said that I might trade my Suhr modern for the right j custom. So far, the only responses I got were a couple late 90s j customs. Not in great shape, one had the tree of life inlay. That is one part of a possible trade that I cannot deal with, the tree of life inlay is a total deal breaker for me. Maybe someone will have a J custom I will trade for. I really, really, really love the necks on the j customs I have played. But, I love the neck on my Suhr Modern also, but just a tiny hair less. To me, the J Custom neck is very lead friendly. It reminds me of the neck on some of the N4's I have played. Maybe someone will offer up the right trade, as of now, its basically up in the air?

This would be my only remaining J Custom. I sold the others off to get what I have in my sig as I was offered pretty big dollars for them and wasn't as attached as I am to this one. This is the #3 of 5 RRG4 HG (honey gold) J Custom run done for the Rock Inn Guitar Shop in Japan. It is absolutely stunning to play in every way. It is one of those keeper guitars that I will never sell. The only thing I have changed on it is black Dimarzio Transition pickups with gold pole pieces. This pic was when I first opened the case.

That's sweet!

OT. How do you like your FP2? I have an original FP, and an FP2 is definitely on my short list.

FP2 is killer! Love it! Another of those guitars I won't part with! I changed out the stock pickups to red gravity storms and they sound perfect in there!

hey, went to that site in japan, ishibashi, and check out this bad machine!!:

250,000 yen, what is that, around 2500? a lot less than buying it here, and best of all, NO TREE OF LIFE INLAY!!

ishibashi got bAck to me on an inquiry about this guitar. they said due to fluctuating exchange rates they could not give me an accurate price?

Just use some sort of currency exchange translator site like Oanda.com. Rates fluctuate, so depending on the fx rate on the date you bought it the price could vary by a little.

Looks like 250,000 yen comes out to $2,448 on Oanda.

Weird answer from them, the person I corresponded with dealt in Yen. The method of payment takes care of the currency conversion itself so they needn't worry about that for you.

I have still only had those first couple offers for my Suhr Modern. I put it up on my local san fran craigslist as a trade for a j custom with no tree of life inlay. I had 2 offers the first day, then nothing, just silence. Those J Customs with no tree of life inlay must be far and few between.

No Tree Of Life Inlay...

To each his own, but it's my favorite inlay of all time.

I like to keep things simple. the inlay would distract me I think. I am like that, wandering mind, but when its just dots, I am good to go.

anyone have anymore pics of J Customs not up here yet!! I want to see more!!

Fancy inlays aren't for everyone and not even for me all the time. My second favorite would be some offset dot inlays.

now that I could do, offset dot inlays look good and are simple.
