Ichika is a fraud

:dunno:

I've been saying this for years (especially after watching his NAMM performance and live videos) and no one really listened to me

Looks like i'm not the only one who noticed his shit is obviously fake, and more importantly that his skill level isn't even close to the level of his youtube videos

Yep, just saw this earlier. It kind of reminds me of when I found out a lot of famous artists patch up their 'live' performance recordings.... it's all just an illusion.

I’m not a fan of any editing or punching in, everything I’ve ever recorded is one take trying to keep it “real”, but unless this dude is advertising himself as raw and unedited, I’m not sure of the outrage, wouldn’t we then have to be outraged at every album that has edited guitars, which is the overwhelming vast majority?? I just read it wasn’t even actually Aerosmith that recorded their classic early albums I love, it was session guys.

He presents many performances as 'live' - this being the issue.

Not only does he present many of these performances as live, but he can't play the shit. Like he can't remotely play this shit to the level that his "performances" are at, because they are at a level of inhuman perfection that is impossible to reach.

If that's your takeaway from this, I don't think you understand how this shit works - from the instagram/youtube viral level to the psychological effects it has on kids who think this is real.

Watched a few of his videos when they came up in my feed, liked the compositions, never knew about the miming or skill-level.

While this is true, it may also inspire someone to actually learn to play this stuff cleanly. Doesn't just apply to music, pretty much every form of entertainment has had cheaters or people cutting corners, still inspires people to give it an honest try one way or another.

It's impossible to play like 90% of his music, especially as cleanly as he does

1. That's why he's famous and influential
2. That's why it matters that it's fake.

He's like the malmsteen of Instagram guitar. No one ever accused yngwie of being a hack who can't play

im not understanding, what would be the psychological effects other than a kid watches that dude and says "i need to practice and get better"?? i think id rather have my kid watch and be inspired, even if it is fake, than watch a video how its all bullshit and basically explaining how to be a fraud?

He's like the biggest influence and "guitar hero" guy, like yngwie or EVH was, for zoomer kids

And he literally cannot play like that and fakes his shit

So a whole generation of guitar kids are going to be trying to do something that is literally impossible

In a sense yeah because it pushes kids to play to a certain level that is really impossible to play naturally without tricks and editing BS......

But after seeing it again......

Maybe he's doing these really fast and subtle things that light or eyes can't capture but sound can?

i dont man, id love to thank Lars and Hetfield for speeding their shit up, those lying cheating fucks just made me better practicing till I actually could play at those speeds.
