Duncan Distortion, or, I'm not kidding either, a Jackson J90C...great pickup, easy on the wallet...already F-spaced.

Man, I am really fired up on my Wolfetone Dr Vintage. It is in a Les Paul, so I don't know how it will be in a thinner body like that. It is very, very tight and super punchy. Another really awesome bridge that I know works in a super strat is the Duncan Super V. It is another pickup that to me could not be any better. They roar and have grind, but are really tight and punchy. I heard that the Super V might not be made anymore, but I am sure you could grab one on ebay. Seeing as how I don't know how the Wolfetone will be in a superstrat, I would go with the Super V. I have had them in maple body super strats, alder, basswood with maple top, and mahog with maple top and it was awesome in EVERY one of them. Not many people seem to know about them, but if you want tight and punchy, it is amazing. It is a high output which I don't usually like, but it acts more like a medium output pup.

I've recently discovered the Full Shred - sounds great with mahogany bodies, not tried it with a mahogany neck though..

Love my Suhr SSH+ in my mahogany bodied and neck superstrat Suhr guitar. Does all the right things IMO.

A WCR Icebucker would do that very well imo. It's not as harmonically rich as some of the hotter pickups out there, but it's still got it. It's very tight, punchy, open, and clear with a nice chimey top end. It rolls off good too because it's not that hot. It's got a pretty balanced eq curve, though, I'd say it is definitely brighter than it is dark. The matching neck is ok, but nothing to write home about. It's clear and focused, but just not very exciting tonally if that makes sense.

Yep, Ive had the Full shred in a guitar before. Alder bodied guitar. Was very thick in the mids.
I liked it for that guitar. but I want something more polished...I might have to go with my GOTO the Arcane Pickups. but I'm yearning to try something different.

Dude, try the Super V, I PROMISE you, you will love it. if you want tight and punchy, this pickup is it. Sounds great also. Its sounds big, yet articulate.

watch this, it will give you an idea and keep in mind, through a good amp, it sounds better than this demo. it also tells about the pickup.

This. But, I think you are referring to the J92C. That is the holy grail hot Jackson pickup. Of which I can attest, the 92C is pretty awesome.

My 3 favorites:
Distortion
Black Winter
Nazgul

You might like the Nazgul if you want something mildly hot and not over the top.

I love my VHII. It's not high output like a lot of the suggestions here, but lower output pups sound better to me these days. They're bigger and deeper, less compressed than higher output pups.

If you're looking for polished, try an Anderson H2+. If you don't like it I'll buy it from you.

When I was listening to the clip I was thinking it really reminded me of a JB, and then they mentioned it was based on the JB proto  .

AT-1 if you want tighter bottom than JB and more of the 250k pot with JB feel that was Seymour's favourite and what is usually in those one vol knob no tone charvel's. You could also do a jb with A2 mag but it is softer sounding on the lows and that bugged me for tight riffing.

Right now I am rockin the Aldrich. I wanted a bit more cut than the AT-1 provided. If you want a but more bass, go Air Zone which is more controlled than the tone zone and more natural. It is also hot.

The 'tight and punchy' line made me think of the Suhr Aldrich. I used that pickup for years. Exactly as you described. Switched to the JB and it was Meaner and Darker more bass then the Aldrich and I LOVE IT!!! :inlove:
But I think the Aldrich was sorta based off the JB right? Just a cleaned up version of it?
