Born in Alton, Illinois (just across the river). Grew up in ST.Louis (Manchester/Ballwin area). My Dad still lives on the out skirts in Wentzville. Eddie's Guitars kicks ass. Go Cardinals. Go Emo's Pizza(better than any chain here). Go a lot of fucking things from there!
Saw Twisted Sister and Dokken there in '84 or '85 ish. Iron Maiden in '86 and Van Halen on the 5150 tour.............to name a few. I miss it but don't miss the humidity!!!! Colorado has a much better climate.

^ bad ass. If I wasn't so damn poor I'd do the same. :aww: (sending the chips thing)

Imo's Pizza man... don't disrespect "the square beyond compare"

I haven't been able to talk smack for 18 years (thoughts of Francisco Cabrera still haunt me)...I have to take my shots when I get them :D 3 game series starts tomorrow

Alton is fun... ahem, didn't mention Fast Eddies Bon air and Grill. Just went there for my Brother in Laws 21st and they still give out those cheesy t shirts for the 21st birthdays... also took my Wife back there in 2007 for her 21st... good food, and affordable with nice live music... a must for anyone visiting that area. Before I entered the military, I worked very close by in East Alton with Winchester/Olin Brass Mill making and assembling ammunition ironically for the US Military mainly, so I get to shoot my own product. Emo's is alright, but I find that I like Pantera's pizza better, and also Cecil Whittakers, but those are spread out in St. Louis. Is it true that Eddies is an appointment only store now?

How funny is it that I visited Colorado Springs for my brothers graduation from the Chair Force Academy, and ended up deciding that it is the most beautiful place I have ever seen, and decided that I want to be stationed at Fort Carson, and possibly end up retiring out there someday? Hope that ends up happening. How is the Job Market out there, and everything else besides it being so damn beautiful out there?

No faith in the Cards right now... but they have to break out of this funk sometime. For some reason they never fair to well against the Pirates in their division... dont know why that is, but them damn Pirates always seem to give them a hard time. Not gonna lie, Pirates are lookin good this year.

Cecil Whittakers is just as good as Emo's IMO. Pantera''s WTF? I totally forgot about that place. IT was pretty damn good if I recall. They are still in business? Wow, I gotta have that again.
It may sound crazy but I like White Castle, we don't have any out here cept in the frozen section of the grocery store.

Not sure about the Eddies deal. That would suck. That place is awesome.

CO Springs is pretty killer. Job market is probably the same as everywhere else, SHITTY.  I have been doing the same thing for 20 yrs and it has slowed down a ton. Sucks really. The weather is very mild for the most part. It does get hot but it's a desert dry type of hot. We get snow but not as much the past few years. We are at the base of the mountains so if you want snow you just have to drive 30 minutes and you are knee deep in the stuff. It's pretty crowded anymore but not as bad as Denver. Lots to do and see. I really like living here. We have NORAD here so if those idiots are dumb enough to try and nuke this place I will be the first to go. :D We have some of the best tap water for drinking too. Hehe, the water tastes good here. We have Marijuana for medical use and are trying to be the first state to pass recreational use. If that happens I may have to start growing it and say fuck working on cars.  I don't smoke weed (makes me hungry and lazy) but I sure as hell would like to make some money off of it.

You guys remember Peaches records and tapes?

Luckily the local laws on firearms are as lax here as they are in Texas... I still get to carry concealed almost wherever I go. :)

Dont remember Peaches records and tapes... but they have Slackers now!

Funny you mention concealed weapons... right across the river in IL, we have some of the strictest gun laws in the Nation. Only us and Wisconsin I believe are the only two where you cant carry concealed weapons.

Imos does not = pizza. I'm originally from Rochester NY, so I have to consider Imos something other than pizza to make it acceptable.....

You, apparently, have never been to Colorado.  We have shit for pizza, for the most part. A couple of mom n pop places that are ok. I would love to try some authentic NY pizza that you guys rave about. Never had the opportunity.

The thing I like about Emo's and Cecil Whittaker is the cheese. I believe it's a provel cheese. It's like crack cocaine to a guy like me. I love that stuff.

"Provel is a white processed cheese that is popular in St. Louis, Missouri. Provel is produced with Cheddar, Swiss, and provolone. Provel has a low melting point and, thus, has a gooey and almost buttery texture at room temperature. It is the traditional topping for St. Louis-style pizza. It is also often used in the preparation of cheese soup and served on salads, chicken and the Gerber sandwich. Some restaurants go a step further and use Provel for their pasta dishes with white sauce instead of the customary fresh Italian cheese and cream. Although popular in the St. Louis area, Provel is rarely used elsewhere".

I guess I have been spelling it wrong too.

It's not EMOtional pizza to you guys that live there but it is to me. :D
