Everything about them is so damn tacky. Viking, Odin and War Hammer. The is project that's doomed.

And he is not quite the marketing genius.

I'm just not sure what hes thinking here. Sure there are alot of Zakk fans out that have bought Gibsons, Epiphones, Dunlop/MXR, and Marshall signature stuff. That stuff has all sold pretty well I think. But they sold because those people are probably as much Gibson and Marshall fans as they are Zakk fans. Or they wanted the particular look of the bullseye guitar because of its link to zakk/ozzy. Now all that is gone. His signature line bears little resemblance to the iconic gear he is associated with. I just dont understand who/how he was convinced this was a good idea... How much marketing power did gibson etc. put behind him over the years? The advertising overhead here, which he never had to cover before, is ludicrous. There is no way someone put together a business model with real data on this one...

I would think a year would be plenty of time to put up a website. The amp doesn't appear to have even made it to NAMM this year

Well... how many Gwar fans are there in the world? How many of them play guitar? How many of them can afford to buy a guitar? Bam... he just found his target consumer.

Just when you think Wylde couldn't fall any further....

Does anyone know what happened between Zakk and Gibson?

Why should Zakk let Gibson get most of the profits?

How do you know what his deal with Gibson was?

I didn't say I knew what his deal with Gibson was. But it should be obvious that he stands to make more per unit sold by owning his brand. If you read his book, he plainly states that his brand is his creation, and he grouses about the music industry making way more than he does from his creation.

And you don't really think any artist makes more from his endorsed gear than the manufacturer of said gear does (especially a company like Gibson) do you?

And from what I gather (price points mentioned from Zakk interviews) this stuff will be made in China. So his cost vrs street makes his profit margin substantially higher per unit sold. He is betting the BLS faithful will support his new venture, and many will. His fans are rabid!

How is it possible for them to look more ridiculous than they did last year?

But perhaps I under estimate the market for them. BC Rich guitars still sell.

Funny thing is that they were in the Schecter booth... So, does that mean that Schecter actually builds them for him???

If he uses them (or a Custom Built look alike), and they are priced around $500 I'm guessing he'll sell a ton of them to teenagers that can't afford His Sig Gibson (or even Epi).

Yes.

Last year I was talking to a metal player I know. I said the guitars were ugly. He said he thought they were cool. I'm right.

yeah i agree, the 12 year olds like those names for guitars but the problem is 12 year olds dont have jobs! :D

Not a fan of the shapes, but got to check them out at NAMM. They're big thick guitars, and actually look far better in person.

But mommy and daddy do ;)

Its weird to me .There is so much completion in the guitar market (cheap and expensive guitars) and seeing the music industry is in a bit of a slump, I feel it is bad timing to come out with a new line with so many other manufacturers hurting . I went to a guitar show recently and could not believe the amount of amazing guitars out on the market that I never heard of before. This would be a tough road with Fender, Gibson ,PRS , Suhr ,etc.. all having more recognition factor,
