There's no shortage of killers players all over YouTube.

Been watching this guy for a year or so now. His game is so effortless, just a ridiculously talented player. Sometimes when I think I can play a little I pull this up to remind myself I can't lol

Yeah, I've been subscribing to his videos for a few years now. There are many great shredders on Youtube, but Rick has one of the smoothest styles. He barely looks like he's picking or fretting the string. Effortless.

He really is killer! I remember on Myspace he used to send me messages asking how I did this or that. He doesn't look like he needs any help now :D Great player!

Agreed. Rick is pretty awesome.

And of course you too too sir....really some awesome players in our backyard here! I'm sure there are others too....

Rick Graham is awesome. Great chops too Richard Tull. I had never heard of you, sorry. Reminds me a bit of Derek Taylor.

Really excellent, effortless technique. After the first video, I was hoping to hear him play over some music and the second video showed me what I thought would be the case. Amazing technique, but absolutely nothing to say musically. Just a bunch of disjointed licks strung together with an occasional held/vibrato'd note. Don't get me wrong, I respect the effort and dedication that goes into technique like that (I certainly never had the patience beyond VH stuff), it just leaves me cold when it says nothing beyond, "Look how fast I can move my fingers!"

Personally, I'm done being impressed by people who's only attribute is speed/technique. To me it's like someone who can type really fast - it's a matter of practice/dedication, but anyone so inclined can do it, although some get it faster than others. What impresses me is folks like Guthrie Govan, who have amazing technique, but also write (to me, anyway) great music and play for the music with expression/something to say. Guthrie plays amazingly fast at times (some even accuse him of overdoing it, although I disagree), but fits the technique in a musical context. To me that is truly impressive and what makes the difference compared to all the great "typists" on YouTube...

I guess when you put it all together, it should sound something like this?? 8-)

There are so many great players around now! I'm really digging Guthrie Govan and Tom Quayle at the moment. I've bought lessons from both guys and even with the tab, I still can't figure out how they think the way they do.

I met Derek Taylor here in Dallas around '91 and he showed me the basics of what he did, so my entire legato and 3 note per string pentatonic stuff is based around that. He's still one of the best, most unique guitarists I've ever heard!

I'd totally agree - I like what I'm hearing but to my ears sometimes that kind of stuff is a little too "smooth"- it lacks intensity and agression

No doubt about it . Derek Taylor could still show todays 7 string players a thing or two IMO.

I haven't seen this in awhile. Just killer! Great vibrato, phasing... Flawless

Got about 30 seconds in. Killer technique.

Once again, no chicks in that audience, just 10 guitar players. ;)

I know some people don't like listening to this style of fretboard tap dancing but damn, it's sure great to have it at your disposal.
;)
