Probably will. It may be like any piece of technology, you buy it when its the best new thing for a lot, then a few years later, the better thing comes out and prices drop substantially because it is considered "obsolete".Atropos_Project":2r0cdl93 said:Makes me wonder if the price on the current ultra will drop.
He was going to have to upgrade sometime. I don't suspect any particular time better than any other.GITTarzann":2s2joatw said:Kinda lame move on Fractals part IMHO ....people who have supported them from nearly the beginning who can barely afford the Axe by itself get a immediate drop in value of the gear they bought which allowed Fractal to be what they are today without any heads up something new was coming.

meh, seems like good business to me. 5 years at the top of the tech landscape is crazy. What company survives resting on their laurels, well besides Gibson that is, lol. j/kGITTarzann":a8k2gz95 said:Kinda lame move on Fractals part IMHO ....people who have supported them from nearly the beginning who can barely afford the Axe by itself get a immediate drop in value of the gear they bought which allowed Fractal to be what they are today without any heads up something new was coming.

It'll sound more perfecter than it does now, that is certain. At the same time, it won't. This is the spectacular logic I get to enjoy for months to come.Khoi":2dgd0vb7 said:really wonder when it'll be coming out... thinking about it, but seeing how good the Axe-FX already sounds, how much better can it really sound, and do I really need it?![]()

it would be one thing with just the new options added on to the existing hardware, but this seems like a thorough overhaul, complete with all new logarithms and routines on how it bases it's modeling. proof is in the pudding, but on paper it sounds amazing. I immediately thought about picking up a used standard when the prices drop, but I gotta be honest, the new technology has me very very curious to hear the new one.roadifier":373tiaeq said:+1crwnedblasphemy":373tiaeq said:Twice the power of the Ultra....Pretty much kills the standard. I'm hoping they will be start selling for 400-500$![]()

Sooo, for years people have argued that the AxeFX sounds as good and feels the same as a real tube amp all the while using inferior algorithms.Erock":10kgtcaj said:it would be one thing with just the new options added on to the existing hardware, but this seems like a thorough overhaul, complete with all new logarithms and routines on how it bases it's modeling.
well, for several years now, I've also heard from people how close the axe duplicates the sound and feel of a real tube amp. This is from guys I know and who's ears I trust, not just reading someone's opinion I don't know. If this "is" truely an improvement, I'm definitely interested in hearing one in person. That and the new features like USB and reamping would kill a lot of birds with one stone for me personally.Rogue":3ec9n7po said:Sooo, for years people have argued that the AxeFX sounds as good and feels the same as a real tube amp all the while using inferior algorithms.Erock":3ec9n7po said:it would be one thing with just the new options added on to the existing hardware, but this seems like a thorough overhaul, complete with all new logarithms and routines on how it bases it's modeling.![]()
I've heard the new algorithms make angels jealous.
