Big media has convinced most Americans that Iran is the boogeyman and Israel is only trying to defend their borders. Borders that they could've laid on a different continent altogether. You make your bed then you lay in it. The UN has mostly hated Israel since the day after they allowed them to form a nation. Probably because they violated pretty much every ground rule that was laid for them since British white paper in the early part of the 20th century. All these things are happening to fulfill God's master plan. Israel is just another nation but you defend them passionately. It def ain't springing from your religion so I can only assume it's your background in nominal protestantism and your procurement of news through the MSM. No offense intended.

Well it makes sense you think that. Most of the things you have said in this thread seem more like opinions you formed based on YOUR own thoughts and biases rather than factual reality. No offense intended.

I don't watch any MSM nor do I consume any news from any MS media outlets. Nor are any of my opinions, least of all on Israel, grounded in anything to do with religion or god or protestantism. I may be biased by a deep appreciation for their special forces guys, a few of whom I have met and shot with, their weapons, a few of which I own and their history of competence and sheer determination. For the record, any of my opinions on Israel refer soley to modern Israel, I have no regards for theirs or anyone's religion one way or the other. I'm also under no illusions that their government isn't as corrupt as ours. It just seems like some of you guys glom on to these totally fucked up countries, like China, Russia and Iran and like to pretend that since the media is by and large devoid of anything resembling journalism and most government's ( including Thumbpicker's socialist, nanny state heroes in the AUS government) are staffed by self serving, greedy pieces of shit, that every single thing you have ever heard about Iran, China, N. Korea, Russia, Syria, etc. must be lies. The west created a bogeyman fantasy for some nefarious reason. This is patently absurd. Talk to people from these countries. I have. At least Iran, Russia and China. `These governments make the US look like Boy Scouts. It's like comparing Freddy Krueger to Jimmy Stuart.

The number one perpetrators of global terrorism by an extremely large margin are Muslims. You guys can defend them all you want. March for Palestine until the cows come home. Close down the Golden Gate bridge in protest of US involvement in downing Iranian drones and missiles fired at Israel and US support for Israel in the war against Hamas. Make no mistake though, these people YOU are passionately defending would cut your fucking throat the second they had the chance.

if you go back far enough you'll see the US, UK, European, and even Ottoman roots of the islamic terror of our time. Doesn't justify it, but the collective West has done much to create today's environment of conflict, animosity, and terror. No one is innocent.

It's not like the Western powers minded their own business and didn't colonize other parts of the world for a few centuries. China still refers to the European occupation as the "century of humiliation" and they haven't forgotten, neither has India, Pakistan, and many other countries including many countries in the middle east.

When you look at the actions of these countries, most didn't just decide to become terrorists overnight, it has take decades to create, since the end of WW2 if not end of WW1.

Show me where I or others have passionately defended terrorists. You keep assigning that label to people in order to make your points but it's a false label and something you are pulling from your backside. I have a huge disdain for all religion that isn't eastern orthodoxy, maybe you've noticed that. I am neither pro Israel or pro Iran. I have about as much interest in that conflict as I would for conflict between backwater African nations. Honestly I'm more concerned about muslims slaughtering Christians in Nigeria or collateral damage from Israeli missiles busting up orthodox churches and people than I am about Israel-Iran. You're talking like my neighbor...since it's in the news you will repeat status quo talking points whether you are MSM watcher or not. It's cultural because the US is nominally protestant and that's the culture we both exist in. I have just chosen to reject those basic talking points.

I don't really talk about religion with them. Not even politics really.

As far as the rest of your post, I wasn't really referring to just you, although you and Acceptance seem to keep throwing up the same strawman bullshit arguments over and over, whether it's about Hamas, Russia or Iran. You can claim moral superiority via your religion all you want brother. Makes no difference to me, but you're not really doing anything different than those you claim to reject. You reject anyone who doesn't agree with your VERY narrow Orthodox ideology.

I'll give you one thing. I can't really whip out the old, " If you love Russia so much why don't you move there" response. You've already said you want to. I don't think you'd stay long, but......

I don't reject anyone, that's not my way. I just reject their religion. There is a big difference there. There are 250-300 million baptized orthodox worldwide so I wouldn't really call it narrow, it's just not as popular as protestantism in the west or catholicism worldwide.

I'm someone who's in it for the adventure, I've moved many times, so I'm always interested in what's past the bend in the river.

I been looking around eastern Europe and the Caucasus a good bit. Russia, Georgia, Montenegro, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary....Would love to be rural but have an orthodox church in walking distance so I could attend weekday services with ease. My wife don't wanna leave the kids even though my daughter is over a thousand miles away anyhow. The real problem is the entire world is facing big problems right now and it doesn't seem to be something that can be avoided even through big relocations anymore. I'd love to be able to buy acreage in the southern part of Baja Mexico. They can come here and buy big acreage but that luxury isn't extended to us. So much BS going on everywhere right now....

The main thing is money brother. And I don’t mean the kind of money you or I have. If you had real money you could move almost anywhere you wanted with little problems.

Well I sometimes look at investing for residency. 300k investment gets me full time residency in the republic of Georgia and if I could run a business that had semi success we could get by. I could swing it if I really wanted to but I have to want to first. I won't lie, I'm an opportunist. I look for places a lot of people wouldn't want to go or haven't seen the benefit of going to and have bought cheap. Neither place I've owned is cheap any more, that's for damn sure. The US is running out of spots that interest me outside the Ozarks or maybe WV.

Southern Missouri/northern Arkansas is pretty sweet. Avoid places like Branson, Kimberling City, Eureka Springs, Ft. Smith, etc.

Yeah I been eyeballing that for a while. There and WV. But the ozarks puts me in a day drive to Austin where I have family and gigs. The old lady would go today if I demanded it. She'd actually go Alaska if I pressed the matter. She's good like that. Maybe we could take this to the bug out thread cuz I'd really like to hear why I should avoid being in proximity to those places? I'll hit you up in there for any insight....
