I found a deal on an acoustic preamp pedal locally to me. I've been kicking around the idea of playing acoustic parts with my band, and it would be a good tool for live use. I don't know shit about the brand though.

Who has NuX stuff? Are they any good? Where would you rank them on the tier list of pedal brands?

I have played the NUX XTC red and it was pretty good, but I preferred the bogner red. Same with the Nux SS2 (solid STudio), I preferred the Two Notes Cabm.

NUX to me is kind if like Mooer, Joyo, etc.

As for the acoustic preamp, no idea on that. I do like the LR Baggs Para DI. If you look you can get one used in the lower $100s

Haven't owned any but have read favorable reviews from other owners.

They are good, generally well made. They seem to mw to be all much of a muchness, and offer affordable copies of well known pedals. Do they sound as good - not quite, but they are close enough to fool 95% of people.

I have heard good stuff about the brand but have never personally used any of the stuff. I have a Boss AC-3 I used to use when I played live. ran it direct to front of house, and it sounded damn good too !

I have it around here somewhere.

Listing is for the Optima Air, which is a preamp and IR in a pedal. He's got it under $100, where something comparable from Fishman or LR Baggs is easily double to triple that. I might get it and check it out.

Yeah good Chinese is good, but it's also Chinese. If it becomes critical, I'll get something better, but for an experiment, it might be worth it. I can always flip it later.

I have the PLEXI Crunch pedal & I love it. I actually use it at rehearsal plugged into an old 90s Peavey 2x12 or a Fender tube amp. Sounds great no matter what amp I use it with. Built solid and never lets me down. I want the Atlantic delay / reverb next.

i always think of them as the "upper-crust" of the chinese import stuff. Had a few of their pedals, always durable, always decent tones, and budget-friendly.
