I think I was one of the first here and on HC to try one.
I can't imagine ever doing without the Axe-FX now.
I have sung the praises of it long and loud and can not
imagine a better piece of kit for creating and crafting tones.

Gary

Yep, and it was your fault I bought mine.

On another note, I had a NYC guitar teacher approach me at my last gig. he shook my hand and asked me what the hell I was using since he couldn't tell what it was and he loved the sounds that I was getting. If I had a camera I would have taken a picture of his face after I told him it was a modelor :hys: His face was priceless!! I also wrote down what it was so that he could look it up.

I can't believe this is a modeler either. Plugged into the FX return of a rented Marshall 1/2 stack. Skip to about 1:30 in :

AAAAAUUUuuuuGGGGGgggggghhhhhhhh............... cant anyone NOT be happy with it????? PLEASE, LIE IF YOU HAVE TO :gethim: :gethim: :gethim: :gethim: :gethim: :gethim: :gethim: :gethim: :gethim: :gethim: :gethim: :gethim:

I hate mine, it sounds grainy and weak, I wish I would not have gotten it. the reverbs in it are terrible, it makes noise when I switch patches, my good guitars sound like cheap junk through it, it sounds the same no matter what power amp, or speakers I use, the pitch shifter misses gears when I shift under full throttle with no clutch :D :D

I'm getting my Ultra back this week from Scott Peterson, really looking forward to hearing his patches. Hoping to integrate the Axe back into my rig. My hope is to eventually dial in my amp tones comparing my rig to the Axe, and maybe eventually only taking the Axe to gigs. Hoping to dial my rig in with Dave Freidman, and then the Axe with Cliff if I can talk them into it. :D

had the Ultra for a couple of months. Still loving it. I rarely plug in my tube amps at home anymore, this thing just sounds so killer at any volume and is really fun to play through.

Had a great time at last night's gig, tone was fookin' happening and been rocking the black box live for a year now.

My only problem with it is that it is racked with a Mesa power amp, so the thing stays at my practice space most of the time - would love to have more time to tweak it! Kills for live tone though...

Honey moon over.

Divorce final.

No lawyers involved, no child support :D

In the end a perfect storm brewed that made me get rid of it. 1st - the Ultra is ultra overkill for me, no way I need that much going on. 2nd. - see the first post. 3rd. - in the end I was more than happy with my Aiken and have no need for effects in any way. 4th. - I found myself spending more time tweaking than playing, that was just me though. 5th. - I realized there is absolutely nothing convenient about rack stuff - takes up too much space for me and I'm not gigging. 6th. - had some bills to cover

I'll get another Standard down the road but for now my needs are more than met with a couple of super killer tube amps, my guitar, and cord. Thats it. YMMV.

My honeymoon hasn't even started yet. I'm looking forward to creating/acquiring a bunch of tones for direct recording.

WOW!!!

Line 6 Pod 2.0. Now this makes me want to buy a modeler

I have had mine for a year and a half, and I continue to think this is the best freakin' gear purchase ever.

I have bought refrigerator size racks paired with SLO's, Ecstasy's, Guytron, VHT's, Splawn, Mesa, etc...and I am more happy with this 2 space rack than all the previous gear combined.

I still have some of it, but I don't know why ?

I couldnt be happier, The more I play it, the more I love it... For me, its absolutely perfect...

Kage , how do you run yours live ? I can't remember..I'm so used to hearing a 4x12 in back of me , when I tried the axe-fx with the qsc powered monitor it was soooo different I was'nt sure it was for me . I returned both , but you guys are making me want to try it again .

1.5 years with the Ultra and it has just totally won me over for a long time to come. The only other amp in my future is going to be another poweramp should my TS-100 die out. Its nice to know I don't have to be a slave to the limited tones of a traditional amp or worry about becoming a good pedal dancer. However I do get a kick out of all the amp whoring going on around here. Lucky for me it was the Ultra solving any amp gas that I might have had. No cure found yet for guitar gas
