Is the new Tremoline T36 an OFR Floyd killer????????

Agreed. Vega trem sounds great but it looks dinky. Too small on a strat. Why would they not have adapted it so it fits visually?

The small form factor allows you to pull up on the bar like a recessed Floyd, with no modding required.

I saw that this morning. I will buy a kahler if I’m in the market. I just love those big heavy ass blocks of stainless steel.

Just came across this video and thought it was cool..............................my recent 2025 USA made Floyd 1984 purchase was a disappointment because of poor QC...I had to completely replace to two saddles which were completely frozen and would not articulate up or down with the fine tuners.

I've been having issues with my new USA Floyd Rose Original in my Warmoth build. I guess the new QC isn't as good as the German ones, as I've never had issues with those.

My made in Germany one from 2013 is fine. This new 2025 Made in USA is lesser quality......definitely disappointing.

So much so I bought a Gotoh 1996 for my last guitar build.

I´ve had several recent Lockmeisters, which is the OFR without the FR name and license that Schaller released when the patents expired, and in my experience Schaller is killing it just like they always did and Floyd presumably has other reasons to move production. I will probably never see one of these US-made Floyds, but it´s an uphill fight trying to compete with the german originals still being made.

I was wondering why people were saying the Vega is small - yeah, it's supposed to fit inside the trem route.....

I love the Schallers on my Washburns as much as my Floyd's on my Dean's. Got my first Kahler recently and I know it's a bulletproof trem, but it feels so smooth and breakable under my gorilla mitts. It feels like I'm beating up a twink.

Kahler doesn't seem to have nearly as much dive bomb range as a Floyd Rose, but I suppose it dives enough to get the point across.

It’s interesting. He definitely thought about it a lot before building it. Some great ideas like the oval contact blocks and the grooves in the nut, just seems like it would have great sustain, but I’d have to spend some time race testing it to come to a conclusion. I like that it’s SS, and that it would fit a ton of different applications due to its size.
I’m in the “open to trying it” camp. I’ve had German Floyd’s, other Floyd’s, Gotoh’s Kahlers and a bunch of others and I can find things I hate about all of them, but there are things I love about them too. I certainly wouldn’t write it off not having even tried it.
Really nice machine work on it, just looking at it in the pic. I love to see nice bevels and edges.

I’d try it…

I usually have to have a reason to change a tremolo system out, I probably wouldn’t do it without a occurrence that would force me to consider it

If your not a purist, for the price the gotoh 1996 is the best bang for the buck

That's the thing................... I kind of am a purist and like giving USA made products my business first and foremost and for the new USA Floyd quality to be inferior to the German made floyds is utter crap IMHO.

What was the issue?

I don't understand why Floyd is putting out inferior products.
