Jake E Lee's new band footage from Whiskey Show last night!

I don't care what they sound like live as I will never get to attend a show....I can't wait for the album, that's all that matters to me

Yeah I like slop and lo fi.
I would honestly rather listen to this than the BATM record, which I also think is good.
But I'm just happy to see Jake again. :)

I think the internet as a whole is way critical in a huge unrealistic way.. Especially on this 80's douche, cork sniffing forum.

Most people should shut the fuck up instead of passing judgment behind the safety of their firewalls, as they sit on their asses sipping their fat fuck caffeinated drink, expecting a studio quality performance from a live show, recorded by some fucking tool that stands there filming the whole show on a cell phone instead of enjoying it with their own eyes.. You're all idiots.

This was a jam. Good to see Jake get back on his feet.

I was about a C.H. away from pulling the trigger on one of your amps but if you're into ridiculing people on an music forum then I have to rethink my strategy going forward.
First of all, I don't believe I ridiculed anyone, I just found midnightlaundry's post comical in how much of an over the top, overreaction it was to a few people voicing their opinions. What the hell - are you guy's related to Jake, or what? You sound like teenage girl Justin Bieber fans reacting to a negative comment made about their hero on twitter...

FWIW, I have been a fan of Jake's, if you know me, but my thoughts on this performances stand...

But..., let me get this straight, I'm not allowed to say that, in my opinion, those performances were poor/sloppy/nowhere near what he used to be capable of, or you won't buy one of my amps? Hmmm… I guess we're no longer on a music discussion forum… I guess that, in your mind, I'm not supposed to say what I think about something since I make amps now? If that is the case, then don't buy one of my amps, what can I tell ya? Somehow, I'm sure I'll get by...

Regardless… I personally believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion… and I'm entitled to find them funny or disagree...

Steve

Ha!

You better like what I tell you to like or I won't buy your amp.... How childish.

So if you bought it and loved it, then later Steve disagreed with you, would the tone be bad then?

I don't know Steve. Don't have his amp. Sounds great though.

im hoping the singer sounds great on the CD.but i dont think ill be goin to see the band live.with this singer anyway.

Man there is some serious Jake E Lee butthurt going on in this thread. Jake has rust, his band isn;t that great big fucking deal...gte over it. Jake is still far away from his Ozzy days ans early Bandlands days but if he keeps touring he'll be back to where we know he can be.

Another thing is I'm willing to bet there are plenty of players who read this thread that could play Jake of yesterdecade better than Jake himself today....most are probably amateur artists playing for fun and not doing it for a living and not expected to nail the material. Jake is a touring pro and is expected to deliver the goods each night.

Oh I'm also sure glad I read it because it saved me about 3 large on a new amp I was going to buy but not anymore because company owner/ceo gave an honest opinion and therefor his amps don't sound good any more...so glad as I was just about to hit send on my PayPal...yeah right LOL

It's all about how people carry themselves elsewhere that may give you a clue as to how they carry themselves in business, that simple. You are entitled to your opinion just like anyone else.Good luck with your amps Steve and Happy Holidays.

I don't normally get involved in the petty antics of back and forth banter; however, your comments to Steve are flat out retarded. No one is ridiculing anyone. Many people on this forum are Jake fans and are merely expressing their opinions about what seems to have been a sub par performance from one of the greats; and perhaps not Jake's fault. I can't speak for everyone but I'm sure we all want to see Jake do well again. Considering he IS Jake E. Lee perhaps our expectations are greater.

Telling someone you are not buying an amp because he has chosen to exercise his right to express his opinion in an open forum that is driven by opinion is simply stupid. In one post you write, "I was about a C.H. away from pulling the trigger on one of your amps but if you're into ridiculing people on an music forum then I have to rethink my strategy going forward." Then in another post you write, "........you are entitled to your opinion just like anyone else."

Well, which is it? And yes, I'm seeking an OPINION without judgement.

Thank you.

I didn't say it because of his opinion about Jake.I don't think that was near his best either. It's how he responded to the other guy. Maybe I should have left it alone. I wished him good luck and that's that.

Judgement and opinion are two distinctly different things in my book. I think you are way off the mark here. That said, you are correct.......it is good to see Jake back on his feet.

I really hope he does 86 that singer because that sort of thing can throw him back into retirement quick and we don't want to see that. By the way,I was digging the raw Badlands-esq tone he was getting from the 5153. Might have to go test drive one.

I agree. The singer was awful. As I was watching the video I couldn't help but to wonder what must be going through Jake's mind hearing that. As I mentioned before, I think we all have big expectations considering it's Jake and it might just take some time to get it right.

I love the fact that the singer yells " I'm DRUUUUNK" that should tell you right there what type of level of professionalism this dude has..

Anyways, Jake seems a little rusty in spots but I don't think it is as bad as everyone is saying here. Listen to the Bark at the Moon solo. Nobody plays it with Jake's feel and attack and vibrato. I've heard tons of covers and they sound great but Jake is Jake and has his own unique way of alternate picking, doing vibrato, and digging into the strings. He did a pretty good job of it here. Considering we are quick to give Lynch a pass when he $hit's the bed, maybe we can throw Jake a bone. Besides, I think the most pressing issue here is dudes on stage who go shirtless and sport their guts :D

I think he sounds a lot better here. C'mon folks we are comparing him to the great Ray Gillen! Those are MASSIVE shoes to fill.Actually this was before the Whisky show so the dude must have tied a good one on before showtime.Thats unacceptable for a debut show.
