Well, at least it is big of him to face up to the criticism. I hope he (and the rest of the band) can do it. These days with all the cell phones and YouTube you can't get away with nothing. Nerves probably played a a part in this as well. Do they seem a bit intimidated on stage?

Some people don't like the judgement being dished out here, but remember folks, this is a discussion forum. Jake is my personal favorite of the Ozzy guitarists.
I wish him the best but the band needs to do better than this. :)

singer sounds better in sound check.....I am just glad to see Jake back, he may be a bit rusty but I still love his playng

It's all about how people carry themselves elsewhere that may give you a clue as to how they carry themselves in business, that simple.
Ask anyone who has done business with me and I think you'll find that my business practices are beyond reproach. To infer otherwise because of your reading something nefarious into my single smiley response to Mick (midnightlaundry), who, btw, I know personally, have recorded music with and consider a buddy, is just flat strange. I'm not taking deposits for products that don't exist, or making people wait forever for their gear...

By your responses, it appears to me that isn't the case. I stand to lose business if I respond with my honest opinion, so, because I sell amps, I'm not entitled to express my opinion. That seems to be the gist of things, yes?

Good luck with your amps Steve and Happy Holidays.
Happy Holidays to you as well! I hold no grudges or hard feelings regardless of your thoughts on this subject…

After a few drinks and a fatty nobody knows the difference ...

I love Jake. One of my biggest heros, but this PARTICULAR performance sucks for a variety of reasons. I'm glad to see him back out there, but he should be doing it with people of at least his caliber (let's face it, when he's on he's great). However, in addition to the performances being lack luster, the general guitar tone seems thin and lacking any balls, sort of like the whole Ultimate Sin album, which at the time of it's release Jake said he hated, 'cuz he had to fight with Ron Nevison, the producer about his guitar sound every day. Somebody set him up with Joe Holmes' gear QUICK ! And I don't care how much that singer tries, shit can him. Dude cannot sing Ozzy stuff, never mind Gillen. Jake should hit up Oni Logan or Robert Mason or someone like that instead of a no name clown.

First off, everyone is entitled to their own opinion PERIOD. You simply don't have to agree with it. From what I saw/heard, the potential is there for this group to really pull it off. The singer does have some chops, but clearly didn't sound very good...sounded better at soundcheck. Maybe this gig was rushed a bit? More rehearsals needed? Either way It's on the group if they're not ready yet..take the time to get ready! But Jake sounded like an older version of himself and a little rusty..oh wait he's 56! Give him a break..if they come around MPLS I will check them out. But I won't be in the back with my arms folded doing the stare down..  BTW Steve is a good dude..don't know him personally but I know he knows his amps and I've asked him a few questions and he's been great in responding..and if I could afford a Cherry Bomb it would be on it's way..

Good point on the drummer also sucking.. He seemed to be dragging big time. That certainly didn't help Jake rythmically. Probably also loaded. Maybe this guy can sing.. but if he shows up to half the shows loaded, this is going to be a trainwreck. Jake needs some seasoned guys with experience. Get Pilson on Bass and get him to bring a drummer. Now you are a step in the right direction. My prediction is that this singer will last 2 months and will constantly fight the bottle. Pissing away a great opportunity.

I didnt mind the clips? :dunno:
Sounded decent thru my computer...
I am sure if I was there in the crowd and had a drink..... I would be in awe watching the band.

I think Chaisson lives here in Phoenix.....
Sheehan is in every other band on the planet. He'd probably do it. He'd probably bring Portnoy too. ;)

I would LOVE to see Lee with Chaisson and Singer again (but I'm sure Singer is locked up to Kiss via contract), but it would be great to see 3/4 of Badlands up there again. Maybe Jake should start searching YouTube for a singer ala Journey.

Jake needs to recruit the singer from Adrenaline Mob. That dude does a spot on Ray Gillen! When they covered Highwire, I got goosebumps!

Yes, except Symphony X is his main band and I don't think that Jake will ever be as big as they are (which isn't saying much). He would sound great with Jorn Lande as well, who in my opinion is the best classic rock/metal singer in the business today.

I believe that they did that and this is the guy that they ended up with. I expected a lot more from him based on his interview on that metal show. It could be opening show jitters; monitors?

Singer sounds much better on the vids from last nights 2nd gig.

The internet is full of Simon Cowells ...
I would say that almost anyone on here has more talent than Simon...at least we can tune a guitar or play a scale in key or make up a riff or SOMETHING...WTF has Simon ever done ? What qualifies him as a judge of anything ?

Am I hearing things or does anyone notice several of the solo parts in the first two songs sound out of key, like a half step off? I don't know the tunes well enough but I noticed this in several places? Singer sounds a lot better that is for sure. Bass player looks a little bored too....sounds good though, I like his bass tone.
