JMP vs Jubilee

I like the JMP a little better with the 100 watt power section but this 50 watter sounds mean for a stock reissue amp.

Via the diode clipping. I prefer the more raw and open sound of the JMP myself but with a touch more gain.

Based on those clips I'd take the JMP without a second thought.

Both sound good. The Jube sounds more compressed. If I had to pick one it would be the JMP.

Can I ask you guys something? The reason I loved the comparison so much is. its the same dude same guitar and pretty much same licks. The 4x12 that was used went from slant for the jubilee and straight for the jmp. If I had to quess I would say the straight cab was loaded with vintage 30's and the slant cab had T75's. That would account for the extra compression and lack of midrange bark as well. Is the lesson its not just the amp but the guitar, speaker selection, cabinet design etc. Good tone for me takes a struggle of trial and error.

Second question, This is stage volume for me. The camera was 25ft away. If you were in the front fow you would need ear plugs. That's way too loud for the lots of venues. Is this Killing rock n roll?

"Killing Rock n Roll?" I don't know. It sure has killed my ability to get the tones I want with where I live. It's been a few decades now though where you couldn't realistically use an un-bridled 1959 at a live gig. I remember in the 90's trying to use a 1959 in a decent sized club and faced the cab towards the back and it still was ridiculous in the room. Hands down my favorite sound is a 1959 through a greenback cab at volume and I'm not sure if I'll ever get to do it again.....

"Killing Rock n Roll?" I don't know. It sure has killed my ability to get the tones I want with where I live. It's been a few decades now though where you couldn't realistically use an un-bridled 1959 at a live gig. I remember in the 90's trying to use a 1959 in a decent sized club and faced the cab towards the back and it still was ridiculous in the room. Hands down my favorite sound is a 1959 through a greenback cab at volume and I'm not sure if I'll ever get to do it again.....

Storage unit. $75 a month. Get a small practice room some where. Worse case buy a DC/AC converter or generator and play out in the woods.

I mean you just can't get this tone at low volume or with a digital pedal.

I've actually been thinking about visiting an hourly rehearsal space I used to use when in bands but they have pretty shitty cabs and I just don't feel like transporting a 4x12 as well to play for an hour.
