I've always been a fan of Hoey, Bug Alley is in rotation on my iphone. He doesn't get nearly enough run IMHO.

Hoey can play to and with the song instead of the beer guzzle and one-up mentality that Zakk has. I'd love to see try and head cut with Paul Gilbert so we could see him limp off stage with a diaper so full he'd have crap on his chin.

I think he's on to something there though. Joe is trying to settle into that 'elder statesman of the blues' thing way too early.
I think he worked too much and burnt out. Lost the fire.

There's a good interview somewhere in one of the English magazines with Glen Hughes were Glen mentions he was concerned about Joes work load and burning himself out. He may have been on to something as well.

I still love Joe. But the albums are blending into one another at this point.

OMG I could only watch a few seconds of Zakk .... I always liked him in the early Ozzy days .... but he opened for Judas Priest a couple years ago, and I couldn't believe how horrible he was .... just totally tasteless wanking.

This is the closest JB ever came to impressing me. It's good stuff, not breath taking however it does demonstrate to a degree his gifted improvisational control on guitar.

Only one obvious clam I can detect @ 39s.

No sir, I saw that and over it 10 seconds after I viewed it when it first came out. There is a difference between saying Zakk sucked on a classic rock track that anyone could impov over easily or that Zakk crashed and burned vs calling him a foul, unwashed pig...which sounds to me somewhat angry and personal. I'm not a big fan of either guy really, yeah Zakk could use a shower and a shave or lose the biker image but I don't think the guy is a foul pig.

Love Greg's guitar demo's etc as well. Such a creative and versatile player. On another thread re: John 5 I talked about not liking acrobatics without musicality and Greg is a perfect example of someone who can play just as technically as John 5 but is always pairing it with musicality and not just going all Domo Arigato, Mr Roboto on us.
