I've met him. Nice guy for the most part. He's like the cocky guy at work, who thinks he's the shit but hasn't really done anything. Only this guy has.

He plays guitar better than most people ever will. He writes tunes better than most ever will. He bangs hotter chicks than most ever will.
He's world famous and makes tons of money. He's still very young and most likely will only get better.
The fact that some people make him out to be a much better guitarist/musician/songwriter than he is, is not his fault or problem.
We all think the people that "do it for us" are greater than they probably are. Does it really mean anything to those that don't agree with us? Don't think so.
There is a lot to hate about him if that is what people want to do, but it will not change his life, talent or "Poontang" conquests one bit.
I just say good for him

I don't get the point of these John Mayer threads really. You know 95% of the guys here are not fans of him yet we see John Mayer threads at least once a week. My question is why not hang out on a John Mayer forum where you worship your hero among his other fans.

For me, its the amazement that people swing from the nuts of a hack like mayer when there are guys like Gales, Bonamassa and Trucks to name a few who outclass the hell out of the guy and dont share the same notariety... Yeah, but Mayer is a popstar who happens to play guitar better than most popstars. Gales and Bonnamassa are guitarist first and foremost.
I think very few people who go to see John Mayer in concert go for his guitar playing. . .I think it might be a nice surprise to some people though. Where as, people go to see Joe Bonamassa for his guitar playing.

Sticking to the trends eh?? Obama confident? LMAO!!! Hope and Change ?? There are amazing musicians that are super confident, extraordinary talent/soul/diginity/integrity and have a sense of humor as well...but are not pop culture trendy and part of the media lamestream. Those are my heroes ....Jimi Hendrix was the Godfather.
