John Petrucci Vs Guthrie Govan?

JP for me any day of the week. Has it all, tone, taste and ability to play anything and a catalogue reflective of this fact.

I am yet to hear a GG tone that inspires me, I even prefer Magnus Karlson to GG as a guitar player.

There is no winner though it is just personal preference and for me, it is JP.

I personally prefer JP's compositions/writing, as his material often has more meat on the bones, it's more memorable anyways (to me). However I prefer GG for pure lead/melody/solo playing (and it goes without saying JP is no slouch here too, lol), as his note selection and execution are equally inspiring (but then again, I actually prefer Greg Howe over GG when it comes to that type of music so what do I know).

We need both on the plate. They're different animals.

Call me crazy, but I'd take Alex Lifeson's or Steve Morse's catalog of music over Petrucci or Govan's.

GG buy a huge margin.

The spelling here is almost as FAIL as the string winding job on the red MM in your billboard size signature.
