Hmm...i use it, just have to work the low end a bit to keep the 'woof' out.

The "Pull Deep" is hardwired on, along with all the other pull knobs except "Pull Shift" on the bass. I never use the "Pull Deep" on my others, so I'm learning to adjust around it.

It's been an interesting first few hours with it. I'll reserve my opinions publicly until I've spent more time with it, but so far I'm digging it.
So you have one?? Very cool! Give us your thoughts asap....

I have owned a few IIC+,III and IV. I am going to do a direct A/B with my IV before I decide.

I'm all for people posting anything they feel is related or any questions they might have. Thanks for sharing everyone.

Stephen's a great guy, remember you got a place up here bro, once the FEMA thing starts up!
My wife calls the spare bedroom, 'Stephens room'… Hehehe

Is there enough room for all my gear ? :)

I meet bubbastas at the store yesterday and we played on it a few hours then went to my place to try out a few amps.
I feel this amp is as good as a II,III or IV.... Just a different flavor of the family. I really like the shred switch. It gives this great voice for playing chuncky rhythms.

I got to try one today and didn't care for it. Overdrive Was too "grainy" or a little "ratty" for my taste. Plus I felt it was difficult to dial in medium to lower gain dirt that was pleasing. It seemed more like an all or nothing amp distortion wise. Was actually quite relieved that my MKV is in no danger of being replaced...

respectfully, i havent found low or medium gain tones a problem at all.

i could see the grainy aspect, though

Wow! I guess it's all subjective… A buddy from LA got to try out the JP2C next to his MkV and said the exact opposite of your feelings… He found it much, much easier to dial in good tones on the JP2C and Felt it was VERY close to his original Mk2C+ - he is now selling his MK V and buying a JP2C … I guess it's nice to have both options…

Most 2C+ guys that try a MKV, didn't like it so much. They'd rather play the 2C+. Guys that dig a MKV? Don't see what the big deal a C+ is. All personal taste.

I wouldn't say that's true at all in regards to the second half of your statement. I've played a 2C+ before and it was better than my MKV for one particular sound. Most are satisfied with their V's because it does a good high gain tone and several other great tones of all types of clean and drive. The MKV just gave easy access to similar tones that the masses can obtain. There's only so many 2C+'s around and I doubt many MKV owners have even played one. I would rather have a decent MKIII than the JP from what I experienced. If the JP love extends to some selling there 2C+'s because the feel they're now redundant, awesome. I'll be glad to relieve them of their outdated and outclassed door stop....

I agree for lower gain the voicing is very different than the V. It's always the saturated classic lead sound with the JP2C. One of the younger guys down at the shop preferred the V also for the same reason as Skoora. I am sure there is always going to be people that like different models. Personally I like them all. My Mark IV was my main amp from 90 to 94. I well always keep it around for certain sounds it does.

This is the way I would describe JJ preamp tubes, which come as stock in mesa amps. The perfect sound seems like it is a small gain knob twist away. Yet the smallest turn gets it into too much gain (or too little the other way). And no Mesa amp can withstand the avalanche of gain that comes in. Swap out the preamp tubes for chinese, problem solved. Chinese preamp tubes seems like one huge sweet spot all over the dial in comparison to jjs.

Another YouTube clip from the same guy that did the one I posted above (this one has some lead playing):
